Pt Walter, 7.0m EIII, Nude 54, KA23S. Went down in the morning and saw that it was pretty crap. Watched JO grovelling around on big gear before deciding to salvage some of the day and head off leaving Toby and Mark to it. Looked windy in the afternoon so I went back and saw some nice gusts. Maybe they were the best gusts of the day because it was pretty hard sailing. When the wind is dead SW it seems to be a bit undecided about which side of the biggest part of the hill to go around. So it alternates. Making the wind on one end of the run S, then a huge glassy hole in the middle, and then S swinging straight to SW with nothing in between at the other end of the bar. This made for some interesting knocks and lifts sending me in all sorts of directions. I got a couple of short gusts with all of my fastest runs at least 500m from the sand bar dodging yachts and ferries... thats where the only wind was. Fastest peak was a few seconds before I crossed the wake of the rottnest ferry Surprised. Borrowed a mast off Jesper to try. Transformed the proto sail. Thanks maaate.

Challenging sail at Bender's local hole at Australind.

Scary shallow at first but gained confidence. A bit underdone with board, fin and sail on 2011 KA Koncept 6.6, 23 Slingshot and old faithful Kinetic Centurion 52. Had a couple of good squirts but could not muster 5 decents for the 5 x 10. Bender has the place wired and hooked into a couple of hooters from what I saw!

The spot has big potential - have sailed it twice but never on smaller than 6.6!

Pelican Point, WA, AU

nice wind for a change!!

used the sess to try some new gear and a retuned sail

decicded to try the slingshot 19 in the manta 54 to see how it felt....

i figured a good test for a short fin would be to try it on some flat water so peli point seemed like a good test track

waves where smallish today maybe only a foot or two...

needless to say i am impressed with the slingshot!!

finally found something to like with the evo2 5.5 after cutting an inch off one of the battens!!

had fun dodging kites.. nearly killed a couple...will have to improve Wink

stoked to improve on my alpha from the other day by .1 of a knot..what a difference 20 knots of wind makes!Frown

No worries Snides.

Hey Pete, how was the 23 with the 6.6?  Enough grip?

I was thinking of buying 23 & 21 for sail sizes 6.4/5.8 respectively (on my SP47).
