Webby (1927km): RRD Freerace 112 and 7.5 overdrive , wind was very up and down when I got there only out for a quick blast as night shift tonight and just my luck it started to come in good as I had to go ( I might be the wind jinx )
Doddi (2847km): Hardies Run, WA, AU Quick sail with Webby,Mike an Sam. Tried a slingshot today. Happy with the fin.
Hardie (20239km): Nice sesh, iSo 86 TR-4 6.3m Pepe 25cm weed, probably rigged the sail too flat, wind never quite come in, but had fun, did some nice alphas
Elmo (15665km): JP Slalom VI 59, NP RSR 6.7m, JP Freeride weed 31cm Got down the run same time as Matt (late) the wind had been blowing all day, quick chat with Mike about conditions and rigged up. Had the speed 54 set up as well as the 59cm, Sammy advised that it was a wee bit gusty and swingy so he recommended the bigger board. When on the water discovered that not riding a board regularly means you have to do a bit to learn it, so I spent most of the session mucking around with settings which kinda had a bit of success with, but it was hard to tell as 2 runs in a row were never simillar. Have come to the conclusion that I may have to name this board "Ellenore" as each of the 4 times I've ridden it, I struggle to suss it out, think I may have to spend a bit more time on it, feels like theres a lot more potential there. Couldn't buy a gybe today, at least three of the gybes I over stepped the back foot and had hlaf my foot draging in the water during the turn. Had on Gybe where Hardz had just fluffed one so I went past him to show of (allways a path to disaster) a gust hit me as I unhooked and went into the gybe, hit some chop and the back of the board spun out in the turn just as another gust hit, Look up in the sky< is it a bird is it a plane , NOOOOOOOOO it's Super Elmo, unfortunately I'm not the muppet of steel so I'm sporting some nice egg's and grazes on both legs from hitting the mast with them on the way through. Overall still a fun session, predominatly went for Naughty Miles which I'm quite chuffed that my slowest was a 27. Good fun, enjoy tomorow guys whilst I'm stuck in a wanky training session all day (as if I didn't already know how to do that)
man of (2851km): Great way to finish the day! I ran my North Warp 6.3 and Carbon Art 50. One of the best sails I've had on that board. Even goes wave sailing in the channel with some wicked cut backs!
Decrepit (22059km): All day session with Sam, joined later by crasher, Webby, hardie man of & Elmo. Tested the remodified 7.3 and the modified 6.0. They're certainly getting there now. My speeds are much closer to the other guys. Started out with the 6.0 on the 59cm Thommen, but was underpowered, so tried the 7.3. That was good for a while but wind picked up again, went back to 6.0. After lunch, swapped to the new 48cm speed board, that's when the max speed happened.
DON'T FORGET GUYS, tomorrow night!!!!!
Sammy (16210km): Hardies, team up with Mike for some KMs.. Morning was really crap and become better midarvo, the best was aroun 5ish.. Sometime had 3 different wind in the esuary, really strange!! Good work Mike on your 48 you getting faster! , great Alpha boss , I saw you parcticing at Alphaland, was too tired to do anything but staight line to get some kks in, will join you next time! Tried a couple of Crasher slingshot, 21, 23.. good fin but think IMPOV its too flat water oriented (had a direct spin with no warning in the chops ), and my fav is still the Ka 23 Tried Mikes big girl and the 7.3, very pleasant ride, quick planning and stays, needed a lot of tunning, great job on the board Mike. Crasher went on it after me, I could hardly keep up with him A good day with the MM family RRD_80, RSR_5.8, LE_260_Mod, Ka_230 |
