Windxtasy (2881km): Melville Beach, WA, AU 85L Sonic, 6.2 museum piece, Vector32 15 knots A fun sail on a day that looked like it wasn't windy enough, and a PB as well. How about that!

Macka Packa (8161km): Pelican Point, WA, AU Sonic 100, Remedy 6.4 Mostly underpowered but great to have a sail with Jake (Sonic 1) and Mark (Sonic 2).
Snake (13281km): Nice cruisy river sail with Mark and Patrick. Bit light to start off with , and especially when we decided to try to get up to wallyworld....a mission that failed , I arrived to see nobody at wallyworld so sailed back down. Wind was better at peli than elsewhere anyway. Filled in towards the end which was nice and managed to get a few km's under the belt. Great sesh! Sonic 85, Ram 6.3, Goldwing 32
Mineral (3706km): Got to sail with Hooray from Burrum Heads mob. Good fun until the out-going tide done us in. Over the handlebars as the new Choco 40 took a chunk out of the sand bar, then the boom contacted the knee as I landed. Hooray didnt laugh....................... well not too much anyway Was about then we gave it away being too shallow, and the long walk back as the tide crept further away from our start point was a factor that we were not keen to enhance. We should have gone earlier, but me with a 125 only, it was a tad too rough. Great spot here for speed sailing, naughty miles and so on, with a sand bar when the wind is right, is in the best spot for same. Whoever comes this way should make the effort to get a sail in. Wind direction wasn't on for today, but the potential is huge.

lao shi (27489km): Hard day at the office trying to back up the Energizer Bunny aka Snake. Well done on the distance. Wind was iffy early but then came in nicely and Snake signaled the start of an upwinder to Wallyworld. I followed him for three legs then watched him disappear as I slogged in a big hole. Frequent holes with the odd gust saw me slowly work my way upwind and as I got to Dalkeith I see Snake belting back downwind. Decide to sail up anyway but only got as far as Pt Resolution when I nearly got mown down by a stinkboat. Called it and didn't even get a good blast back. Wind was better at Peli and spent the next hour playing rabbit for the Snake to chase. I would gybe in front he would belt past me and we would repeat at the other side of the river. Felt like captain slow. Finally John took over and the two of them had some real knock down drag out racing. Great to watch. Ran out of wind before we ran out of light. Great to see macka packa joining the sonic squad. Warp 6.3 (needed more), sonic 100, venom 38 |
