CR 7.0; RRD X-F 102; Vector Delta 31 (thanks for the loan Jesper...really nice fin); then Sonic 85; JP Speed 30 @melville.beach.wa.au

A few of the team out...very gusty by the time I hit the water...going from overpowered to floating...very difficult...to wit, top 3 NM's all included a gybe. Delta fin was great for the 7.0/102 combo...highly recommended.

Point Walter, WA, AU

First up my 42cm wide speed with ka5.8  the wind was too inconsistent had lots of swimming and after yesturday my arms weren't up for it  changed to the ISO  with a PJ 26 speed fin spent the rest of the session trying to thread gusts together  , typical Point Walter

Exocet Compact Move 84L with 6.4M KA Koncept & 31 JP Weedy

Added some more downhaul & changed fin to Choco Weed Speed 28cm & got fastest time but felt a bit underfinned, maybe the additional downhaul made the differenceLaughing

Tried the latest F2 Vento 96L for a while & it felt good, very cruisy board, similar to the Exocet Cross. Thanks Steve.

Was hoping the KA Kaddy would hang around & do some fine tuning for me but he dissapeared, hope you're feeling better Jesper.

Good to see Heuy doing some overtime for a change & not pissin off at 5:00 as he has been latelySurprised

Isonic 87/ Techtonic 30, Code Red 6.5 @ Melville.

The tide was as high as I've ever experienced at Lucky Bay, Chris, Steve and I were sailing high up in the bay- like never before! Made a huge difference in top end speed- shame the wind gusts never lasted more than a couple of seconds!

I lengthened my harness lines (thanks Chris Adamson for the suggestion), moved the foot straps closer together and positioned the mast track back off centre. This along with letting out the out haul and pulling on more down haul resulted in complete control off the wind. All I need now is consistant winds!!

Great effort Jay....and some good tips there mate. You looked to be flying.

I just couldn't get into rhythm across or off the wind...perhaps the wind's inconsistency and/or the 7.0 being overpowered at times...who knows. Perhaps I should have taken the 85 out initially rather than just for a few runs at the end (where it felt pretty good in the few gusts I managed to trap). Perhaps I should have rigged the 6.1? Hindsight is always the best sight!

Did you have any fin issues with the mast track further back?

Have you tried one of Jesper's Delta fins?...if not, you should.

I believe Stevie Strat clocked some nice speeds...let's get 'em up Cap'n!

And some nice pace there too Annie!

Stev- No, for the first time, the rig felt completely balanced and stable in the water which meant I could tear down wind for longer without the board wanting to leap out of the water. Was running Techtonic 30 which is a true speed fin. It was the fin I used back in Feb to clock 37.88.

I found having the harness lines further back and closer together on the boom helped with pointing and (strangely) stopped the pressure on my front hand. Not to mention giving more down wind control......., I highly recommed it!!

I've got 5 Canefire G10 fins from Jesper now, love them all- more to come! They have changed the performance and feel of all my boards, it's as thou I've got new boards now!!!

Hindsight again, but mate, you should have come high up in the bay with us, you would have enjoyed it, oh well next time.

Steve S told me that he clocked a couple of 35+. Hope he posts!!
