LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB

WIND : SW- 15-20 GUST TO 25-30

TIDE:  OUTGOING

GEAR: Jp Excite Ride 110, 32 Cm FIN, KA KOYOTE 5.3 then JP Supersport 135, 42 cm g10 fin, KA KOYOTE 6.6

DETAILS:  Definately one of those days!  Couldn't get the set up right on the 110 and 5.3,,,felt truly awful.  Sav provided a few tips and I finally got the thing moving but it just didn't have the grunt.

I'm thinking I was underfinned in addition to the 5.3 simply being too small!

Changed up to the 6.6 and had a few runs on the 110.  Felt Ok but the wind was dying so I went to the SS-135. The moment I hit the water we got a nice big squall (30kts I reckon) but the wind settled down for the afternoon.  The tide was coming in so the flat water became few and far between.  It was still good in terms of long planing runs.

My speeds came late in the day on the bigger gear.....I definately need to rethink my small gear set up.  (Crank out the credit card!!!)

Inverloch, VIC, AU

The usual 105 Tabou Rocket, 5.7 Saber and 32cm Curtis fin. Arrived early and had plenty of time to play around with settings, none of which helped coz I got slower as the day went on. Plenty of gybing practice but couldn't keep the board flat for any good speeds.

Thanks all. What are you doing up there Doug, the wind is down here? Drift, it's a pity you had such a hard time with that sail. I think when it's blowing 25-30 you'll be good with that rig, I didn't think 0.4 sqm would make such a difference.

It was a nice change to sail the speed strip in the other direction towards the angling club, interesting that my top speed was near the far end of the strip and not at the end of the run.
