Great show put on by KA Sails and RPS Surprised that the C3 stuck all day in such variable conditions
madventure (1373km): Inverloch, VIC, AU Sailed my 127L supersport / 33cm. with a variety of sails. 5.8 Koncept, 6.5 freeride and 6.5 twin cam, 7.5 two cam. IWC plug and play demo day. An awesome way to trial many different set-ups. The Naish carbon boom I used today is Excellent.
Drift (5307km): PLUG and PLAY day LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB WIND: SW- 12-15knots peaking 18 TIDE:INCOMING-SLACK-OUTGOING SAILORS: OLD SALTY, EJMACK, B3, SAV, CHUNNY, LOZZA, RICHIE, ASH, MR LOVE and the RPS CREW GEAR: JP S/SPort, 38 cm fin up to 42 cm g10 fin, KA KOYOTE 5.9 UP TO 6.6 then various Severne, North and Ka Sails DETAILS: Fantastic idea to pair sailors own board with different rigs from different brands. It allow us to mix and match and see what we liked and compare it to other's opinions. Paired up with that was a nice SW breeze. The tide was a bit full for really dialing into the strip but there were some nice runs to be had. Eventful start to the day as the South Gippy HWy was cut at Tooradin due to the floods, so many of us made a large detour via Drouin and Korumburra.
CHUNNY (230km): Inverloch, VIC, AU
2008 Starboard Futura 101 sails - NP excess 5.9 & Naish 5.8 (demo sail) Wind: 15 - 25 WSW tending SW later in the session 1st time on a small board. I was out of the harness most of the time, the demo sail had the shortest harness lines I've ever seen. I'd need to put my hook near my chest to get in. Boom was very low as well so as a consiquence didn't use the harness at all while using that sail. My footstraps were in the wrong position for me as well, I was finding that my heel would catch the water so rode the day without using them also! I love the board and I was suprised how comfortable I felt on it. I got off the water early as I 'd been sailing for 2 hours before the rest of the crew turned up.
Sav (808km): Inverloch, VIC, AU Spent a lot of the day not planing, had a couple of good runs with a Koncept 6.5/6.6? but was generally quite underpowered with the similar sized Severne and a 5.9 Koyote. |
