Quick dash to Inverloch to get some wind and flat water.  Feels like forever since the last time I sailed.  All calluses gone and bit of a lack of match fitness.  Got down in time to see George and Evan.  Peter and I headed out again and tried for a 1 hour.  Unfortantely I fell in 3 times and had a few lulls in the wind during gybes that made it harder.  Still good fun and managed to get a decent result and a new alpha PB.  Really didn't get time to go for speed - top speed on last run back to car park.  42 gybes in the one hour.   First time out on new (2nd hand) Venom 34cm.  CA SL58 and 2011 Koncept 6.6m.  First time on the sail too and it went great - maybe a bit less downhaul next time to knuckle it up - cams a bit sticky due to too much spacer - might need to shave a mm off.  Felt really good on Port tack but not so great on Starboard - must have been the tide I guess.

Great to get out on the water!!

Great to finally get a chance to blow out the cobwebs after what seems like months since a decent sail. Pleasant 20-25 knot Easterly at Inverloch, Area 45 sailing with George and Evan from the Southerly Busters and John. Like John it felt like I'd lost a bit of match fitness. Needed a can of HTFU! Congratulations on the PB John!!

Late dash after work after I checked the wind and saw it was blowing at the prom. Sailed the last 2 hrs of daylight at super low tide but wind was a bit iffy. 20-25 with the odd short gust to 27. Gusts too short to get wound up. CA40, KA 20 assy, 2011 5m Koncept.

Tried an Alpha just for fun and it didn't seem to bad so I tried a few more and ended up with a beauty! Smile My best by far on the speed board, especially with 20cm assy fin!!! Got a great gust just as I gybed and came out like a rocket.

S'Pt, started in the Pond and with a peak over 37, last record was 35 for us in there, very short run before you had to stand on the anchors and pull it up just as the water got real flat in the boat hole.   Headed over to East bank as tide dropped further, watched a couple of  standing waves frothing at the top coming down the the SW bank with the tide and wind fighting each other.      Run was short as well and hooked a few gusts.

Off for a bite to eat and return to watch Daffy, he got the better of the tide with a much longer flatter run.  I think I saw that alpha too he pulled the 40 looked like a butter knife carving a nice rooster tail thoughout the the turn.

Ka 2011 Koncept 5.8, 23Asym, sp53
