A fun day at the Pit with Shelby,Tom, a few SA softies, various Vic crew and DR Cam searching for that Pb. 25-30 WSW for a while then as the tide droped the wind went SW and droped back to 25. Made it easy to sail back. Started the day with the 5.0 on the CA 40 and then went looking for faster times on the 5.7 with 9kg in the weight jacket. Made a difference with the tighter course but wore my body out quicker and ran out of arms in the end. Great to really blow out the cobwebs and learnt a few things to try next time.

It's been a while, great to start workin the rust off.

First time I've shoved a mast up the 5.5 Evo 3,She's slippery as but does feel a bit different in a tight way and it was really south-west which meant I had to bare away mid strip for my best speeds.

Nice one guys- I'm jealous. Was watching the wind over there and saw it looked like a nice day. Hey Shelby, what mast were you running on the 5.5? The new sails are quite different to previous years. The COP doesnt move on the EIIIs and that takes a little while to adjust to (pretty much every other sail has the COP moving forward in the lulls/back in the gusts). But then its magic and everything else feels unstable. The harness lines need to be in exactly the right place otherwise you wont be able to find a sheeting angle where they feel comfortable. Thats because the COP doesnt move with sheeting angle... Thanks for rescuing Tom :)
