Melville Beach, WA, AU

Got out early and had high hopes due to forcast. Always good to be doing any kind of sailing at this time of year but, as there is often a but! it was typical frontal conditions and not having spent any time dealing with the obvious pitfalls I found myself wishing for more sail, less sail, more board, less board you get the picture. Still sneaked in a 30 two second peak so all is not lost

Pelican Point, WA, AU CoolOn a mission Day- Drive  daughter to school, wife to Nedlands, home, Coffee with Raygun discuss tactics- decision Leighton. Home pack, half way down thomas street call Raygun- "its changing lets go Peli". Read text at Peli " come buy my malibu surfboard NOW!" Mission accepted- drive to Whitegum Valley, negotiate 8'4" Bic malibu $235 SWEEET!. Roof racks now resemble backpackers Wicked camper! Bit of a head wind now with all the boards and sails up top. Peli Point- rigged 6.6 and FSW 94. Vector 30.

Man That fin has changed my perception of this board ! Got up wind to Melvile for Shizzle home- Booya. Did that twice. The NM, lucky one! All the others were upwinders, cos I slowed for Raygun on the first downwinder and "Tail walk of pain chop crash" on the other.

Thanks Raygun- you were looking mean on that flat water and I think you will be mean fast when you dial in the downwinder. Keep watching Troutty hes rock solid.

Congratulations on the PBs. I should have gone to Pelicans instead of Melville. Melville was unusualy choppy today, and the wind was mainly lacking wiht some impossible gusts.

Hi Obelix- we sailed to Melville- impossible gusts all round the river !! And the high tide made Peli very choppy too!

Nice PB's Ray Gun - concentrate and surpassed master Obi One Tobi you have.

Good going Tobi, nice PB too. Some days you're the bug and some days you're the windscreen. At least that is how I feel depending on whether or not I beat Baldy.

Well done on the PBs Ray Gun and welcome back to this wonderful sport! I note that you are back after a 23yr break. I had also had 23 years out when I got back in about four seasons ago. A whole lot of re-learning with the gear being unrecognisable, learning to water start etc. But so addictive!

well done guys.

Especially on all the PBs. Cool

i was looking at the wind, wishing, but prior commitments. sigh.

Might get lucky this winter and get some real cold fronts.

C'mon Raygun, enough windless days to get the golf happening.

Diablo, you'll always be the bug in my sights. Laughing
