Similar wind to yesterday so tried Manor for a comparison. When wind shadow is arounf 300m at Dip dead cross-shore at Manor. Nice rollers until tide turned then got increasingly choppy

Got up early to check conditions and as the forecast was nne slightly off at The Dip which was correct in the morning,Mag and I quickly loaded our campervan up and went to Bawdsey Quay for the weekend :) We parked at the end lay by with stunning veiws of Felixstowe Ferry across the River Deben and after a late breakfsat and with the tide well up rigged the same as yesterday, the longboard and 8.5 to check again the shortboard potential ??? I had well over a mile of perfect flat water down to Ramsholt bend the only trouble was the wind :( too holey and the wrong direction to stay in the flat water !!! I think it needs to be abit more north to work, but I had great fun reaching full tilt through the moored boats even if I was way over powered with 8.5 and wind gusting to over 25 mph !!! I was joined by three shortboard sailors who sailed up from the Ferry boat yard, still I improved yesterdays times a little and got my best n/mile of the year so not all bad.Sadly I pulled my back, which was not helped by a 5 mile walk to Bawdset Martello tower along the beach, but we had a lovelly free overnight camp for free and look forward to a couple of weeks away in the van at the end of June :)

Cracking afternoon.  Wind was back to NE so able to have a few good runs down the speed run off the Hambleton Peninsula.

Looks like it is my 3rd best 10s Av ever....
