Woodmans Point, WA, AU

Was a bit of a gamble, but I figured I ought to check woodies out in a NWer. There were a couploe of kites out when I got there, and then JJ and Antita turned up. The wind was picking up so I rigged the 6.2m and 5.5m (just in case). The chop was really messy past the end of the point where you had to gybe to get upwind to the very short run area. The wind was gusty but for a while there were some great bullets coming through. By the time that happened I was already getting hammy and arm cramps so I decided to slow it down, stretch out, and change to the 5.5m in anticipation for possibly epic runs. By then I'd gotten my best run on the 6.2m and 42cm speed board. That was interesting in the chop. But the wind backed off and eventually swung so I packed up and drove to Melville. Saw the wind coming so rigged up just before sunset to try a mast closer to home. I got a 36.8 on the dial first run using the slalom board. Second run out over near troy park I gybed and the mast snapped. doh! The broken rig then took off in a gust and disappeared to the other side of alfred cove so I had to swim. By the time I got there it was dark, and a massive thunderstorm/squall/armageddon had started. Thanks Mark and Steve for looking for me. Took me a while to get my gear to the road and then walk (wade) back to the car along the road. Mission done.

got a call from 25 suggesting gholes might fire

unfortunately it was way to choppy anmd sloppy for any speed.

decided to take it easy and test out  a new board

tacked upwind for a couple of miles then sat out a squall and managed to get a nice run

back with a swinging west wind.

fun all the same.

nice to get on a tiny sail at last!

Benders Hole.

CA 47, 23 Slingshot, 6.6 Koncept

Not a good call. too much in the squalls then nothing! Sprained a foot/toe in a squall crash.

Bastard of a drive home in torrential rain, lightning etc.

Sorry Snides mate!
