Short outing at the Salty Lake......trying for a decent hour and @500 speed, for the team.   Didn't really manage either!  Dropped a few gybes and crashed.

The Matrix machine was still going when I left!

An evening freeride session in the sunshine, missed the best of today's wind.

So close to a 20knot alpha now.......

Only made the one good gybe today though the rest were stalled or crashed. I class today as a crap session, spent too much time rigging and got annoyed that I couldnt get the simmer 7m to rotate on my severne mast which fits the 6.3 perfectly. Went out underpowerd on the 6.3 and didnt have my tush 7m to change up to. Ended up overpowered on the 7.6.

One good thing is I now prefer the feel of the slalom board to my kode, especially through the chop

Superb session on the Ray (for July), not really a speed day but a great fun day. could of been on a 7.2 and bigger board the wind was really marginal. As usual just as the tide covers the sand bar the wind decides to increase 10 knots, very frustrating.

Great fun doing Alphas, just missed a PB today.

All in all a great day ;)

Lesson learnt dont expect a good hour with shortish choppy runs disapointed with that but a great day all the same.

Big shame though that both my  trusty old select sl7s (35&37) have now died so thats it looking for new fins.

IAN...good one.  Should have some reasonable speeds to back you up when the big boys post!

WARRIOR...Spencer has provided a link of Portland Harbour (location of the 2012 olympic sailing). It's like a big lake but of course salt water and tidal...hence the name Salty Lake.  It can get choppy and that is just where I found myself when a big gust hit me and wiped me out (half way through the hours sailing...not a good time).  The kit ended up about 20 metres downwind..so a bit of a swim and cost me a broken batten!!

great stats  again Ian!  i must get to southend again even if its  just to do a mile, not great for them at Portland today so had to do it with a gybe which didnt work out too bad.

Whos got some sl7s they dont like?

Oh and Lea (redsurfbus) dont forget todays challange you will be gutted to know you only needed a 15k hour.

I just saw that.......good distance mate

I will put a tenner in after payday. Was just a bad session today, never once rigged right as I left the 7m tush at home, ended up just focussing on gybes at the academy end.

Need to borrow a north mast to try that 7.0 simmer if possible before I spend a fortune on a second hand repaired sail and new mast.
