Rock3.7, iSonic86SL, ChocoWS26. Melville. Powered up enough of the time for it to be fun - first sail in a while and was feeling the cold. Good to see a few of the team out!

Safety Bay, 5.6 Reflex II, 55 Streaker, 23 KA assy. What can you say, it was windy, storm surge made it impossible to find anything flat. Happy to get a 40 peak and several other 39,s and 38,s. Called it a day a bit early due to going thru the mast at 38 knts. I think I just need to commit a bit more as I was trying to slow down before hitting the breaking waves. A certain Slow boat was showing how it was done. ( Mad)

Exocet Cross 84L with KA Koyote 5.3M & Choco 32cm fin

Started with too longer harness lines & 2" too far back & a 2" gap in the join of the mast, what a struggle to hold it together in the big gusts & heavy chop.

Also had a 29cm fin to start with which was too small & had to be nursed while trying to hold everything else in shapeYell

Changed booms & fin, & things started to come together, then the wind started to shut down, I must have done 100 water starts today trying to get back to the carpark.

My last good run I hit a clump of reeds about 6" diameter floating just below the surface, stopped me dead with a massive catapultSurprised

The mast cracked the nose of the board in the processFrown

Ended with a nice walk of shame from down past the kite beachEmbarassed

At least a cold beer & a hot spa has sorted the broken body for nowLaughing

Bad news about your board Nelson ( and my brand new mast), but atleast we are better off than a guy called steve i met at safety bay just after I arrived. He hobbled into the carpark with a 12cm gash to the arch of his foot, inside of foot was oozing out and blood pissing every where. I drove him straight to emergency, it appears there are broken bones aswell so operations are booked. Ouched.

Great to see you got the board back from Slowboat, Darryl. Did you have to change all his footstrap settings back to how you like it?Wink

Awesome work on another Sbay 40 in those conditions!Surprised

Bugger about the mast but you must be due some Karma for doing the hospital run. Sounds nasty.

Fantastic effort Darryl...not that far behind Slowie...bad luck about the mast. I read about the blood in your car in Slowie's essay...glad to hear that it wasn't yours!

I had a day off yesterday after a frustrating sail on Sat. We went for a "cruise" to New Norcia with the car club instead...great drive in the wet on some really nice twisty back roads through the Chittering Valley and Mogumber. A bit safer than windsurfing yesterday.

Well done to all those who braved it....especially Windrider on the 3.7 of death! Bummer re the board Paul.
