We stopped by at West Kirby whilst driving home from North Wales. I think that we missed the best bit of the wind for speed but we still got 2.5 hours of good blasting in the NW wind. I spent a lot of time making the most of the flat water for gybing and can't remember a day with so many gybes over 15 knots. I also did a few imaginary five buoy downwinders which was good fun.

Great afternoon with classic side shore wind at Rutland giving some nice 2-3ft waves in the middle of the south lake arm.  Ideal for a bit of bump and jump but I hadn't bought my Freestyle Wave so no option but to go for a blast and try and go for a few alphas.

Ended up with a new Alpha PB and my secon best session at Rutland ever.  Learnt some lessons about my gybing technique though as I totally wrecked 2 X9 booms. Think I must initiatie the turn and unhook at the same time but in strong winds this can result in some nasty catapults over the front.  Both were at 27kts and although gutted to break the booms I am glad they failed and I walked/sailed away unharmed .

Big thanks to Rk for rescuing me after the second breakage.
