Mark Hayford (2072km): Had to work first thing so missed the slightly stronger winds in the morning, bugger. 6.3m felt like the right sail to rig, but after the first run it was clear that I should have gone with the 7m. Wind direction got more NW very quickly so only got a few runs in, finished off the day just freeriding on an XL speedboard in a NW. Still was fun. | ||||||||||||||||||
OPH (65km): Busy August day at the Kirb. Best of the broad WNW flow was late morning, before the occlusion hit, wIth a pretty solid 25kts, Not much juice though in the summer flow to feel anything like powered up on the 140degree+ angle with a 6.5, over the refurbed wall. It almost feels like the course needs 30-35kts+ for the flow to be actually usable when sailing hard up against the wall. Sub 30kts on a wnw flow over the refurbed wall = |
