Oane (4664km): Day 2 at La Franqui, *kaching*! PB! Used Dirk-Jan's HTS today, what a board. I've never sailed a board smaller than my trusty ol' Manta 54, but the HTS has at least as much control but without a speed limiter. Get up and go. I have been keeping a low pace during the day, but had to rush it later on when the lowest batten in my 5.0 broke. Used the batten of the 5.4 and shortened it by a few cm to get it up and running again. The entire operation was pretty difficult with that heavy wind in your back... Final run of the day was the best. Decided to sail even closer to the beach and with a big gust incoming finally made a run over 70 km/h. Yeehaa!
Jurjen (7564km): Never really powered-up. Wind was super gusty. Not my conditions. Hope that JHdB recovers fast. I'm sure he would have and PR big time. He really was flying! |
