Majestic Point, WA, *B121/XFire102/CR7.0

Great to get some wind. A bit surprised with the numbers, thought I was going quicker. Need to do some tuning. Put a nice big crease in the XFire's shnozz when I hit some boat wake. First go with the Code Red - looks promising. Pointman, Snides, Troutty, Peter, Slappa and Claude all out making the most of the wind.

Point Walter, WA, AU

Summer at last - went upwind with Mark and had some good runs - thanks Mark for the advice.

Futura 101, Code Red 7m, Venom 42

Then changed boards and tried behind the sand spit where I got the 29.5 - not great there though - really shallow so had to sail a good distance from the spit and boat wakes raised a similar chop to the windward side.

Isonic 76, Code Red 7m, FO 34

Good to catch up with Chris and John - thanks Chris for explaining the physics.

Great morning sail at Peli Point.

Tried a few combos...

135 XFire + 9.6 CR + 50 Canefire (too big)

F111 + 8.5 Koncept + 40 Sting (great in the middle of the river, but too small in the windshadow in the lee of the Point)

135 XFire + 8.5 + 48 Talon (about right, spent most of the sesh on this one).

Pretty happy with the numbers on the big girl, she was travelling nicely in the chop and I managed to wind her up a few time in the flats.

A great sail.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

An unusual day, with easterlies changing to northerlies then westerlies which kept dropping: hence a lot of non-planing kms.

A slow session enlivened by Windxtasy (who arrived after the wind had left) chastising me for not putting more comments in my postings: so now I feel a real part of the team.

it's hard to get good speeds on easterlies macka

their always pretty gutless

didn't get down today partly cause i have to much uni work to do and partly cause i just couldn't be bothered when i woke up with my alarm at 6, didn't even bother checking seabreeze just went straight back to bed

thats a bummer about ur xfire whats the crease from?

did it just buckle when you slammed into the wake or did you catapult because of the wake?

Catapult under full power Frown

Just looking at my tracks, what should have been the best run, I ended up going too broad - I think that's a first.

damn that sucks i hope she's alright

i do find that on my biggest gear it is possible to run too low to get maximum speed, as well i think it's to do with fin size, with a smaller fin there is not enough lift to run at an angle where you are not applying alot of pressure and therefore not pushing as hard on the whole rig and not traveling as fast in a straight line although likely a better vmg

CryCryCry

Lay in bed all night trying to work out a way to get a sail in before the wind died but couldn't make it work.

Eventually got to Melville at 3 just after everyone came in. At least I had a couple of others to commiserate with me.

Really peeved that I missed that Attadale nm run in the morning. I love that one, and I only need another 7 km to reach my 1000. I was really looking forward to sailing without all the cold weather clobber too. Just can't get wind, energy and spare time to coincide...
