Futura 94, T4 6, 30 Weedie - CryCryCryYellYell missed out by 0.04 of a knot!!! Had 30.66 on the dial, thought I'd nailed it!!CryCry Oh well was a fantastic sail, nice flat water with huge bullets coming thru! Not one to miss!!Wink Braved the sandbar and survived for most of it, the weed got one back latter on and stopped me dead, so now icing a very sore leg with a beer or two or three or....YellLaughingCool Loving the T4, stable as and justs eats up gusts! Borgy and Nic were flying around, so hopefully some nice numbers to come!Smile

Futura 101. 5.8m Lightning, 38cm Drake C3

So close to 30 (a bee's dick away!) and in a straight line Surprised - that was how powerful the gusts were - definetely a day not to be missed...

Fun on the beach with Scotty and Nic, egging them both on.  Dynamite Davenport trumped me again - will have to not show my hand until I post.  Worn out from avoiding the masses and watched the madness from the beach for a while.  Went back in and wore myself out some more.  Kms don't show the effort to keep upright and the exhilaration of straightlining at the bank and getting there way before you should. I'm sure Scott gouged another channel through the bank from his hardcore South East runs.  Glad I bought the new sail...Good to see Glenno's knee healing - must have been hell watching from the beach. Got to go out past the sandbar tomorrow and try for a quick mile and some better k's.

Cervantes, 7.8 Reflex I RRD 112 40 Canrfire /RRD 90 32 B4. Reg,s speed event. Should have stayed on the big board as the few runs I had on it earlier were slightly quicker. Thought the breeze might pick up so changed to the RRd 90 hoping for that magic bullet that never came.

Great fun day at the speed trials with a lot of the crew out and about.

I had the phot shoot done with Col and cannot wait to see the end result.

The chop past the island was 3/4 mast and inconsistent, hats off to everybody venturing out there.

OOOh so close. Frustrating but a PB is always worth a grin. As a fellow member of the sub 30 club I do understand. Congratulations anyway.

Great effort guys... Bit crazy in that weed. Congrats on the PB Borgy. And so close Scott, although cracking 30 is always good!

Just looked at the real speed and can't work out why I didn't get 30kts.  I have three consecutive one second readings over 30?  30.22, 30.46 and 30.29. It seems to have read 30.46, 30.29 and 29.82 to give me the speed rather than averaging the 30'S???? What's that all about?  Sent the track to the boss for checking anyway.

Borgy,

I have reviewed the tracks & they look good.

It is a PBLaughing

I tried KA72 but that gives the same result.

I also agree with you that it should be picking up the next 1 second which is higher & would give you a 30+.

Maybe someone else can explain.

Hey Nic, you can see us in the crowd just off to the right, 3rd row back.

It was a great concert but a big effort.

We even saw a couple of BogansWink

They finished right on time, Jimmy was in the car waiting at 10 seconds to 10:00Surprised

Borgy, Dylan (from ka72) here.

You are looking at the Trackpoints speeds. Since you are using a GT-31, the speed is calculated on the doppler speeds which are more accurate.

You only got one Doppler speed over 30kts, not three.

Dylan.

Very sad to hear of Graceman's passing after a tough fight with cancer.

RIP Tony. Sailing at the Gloo and Cervantes won't be the same.
