Hardies Run, WA, AU

Looks like Hardies was the wrong call - should have stayed local - its howling here now. Bugger!

RRD xfire 112 V2, 7.5 Koncept 2011, 40 Talon and 38 Makani weed fin.

Jury still out on the weed fin. Did not seem to want to go much above 30 with traction!!

quick sail early arvo

wind was building and the middle of the river was starting to go into spin cycle.

Leighton for a short between family comitment sail, was pretty powered on the 6.7 but figured if it was going to be a short sail it might as well be intense .

Beavertime... A bit too much water for monster speeds, but at least there was some wind. Got on the water about 4:15. Went with the 6.2m and slalom board, with a 29cm pointer. Got a couple of OK runs but was pegging out at high 37s. Decided to change something so came back in and chucked the 23 asy on with a weight jacket. That added some excitement and I got my fastest run of the day. Did a few runs and decided to try the 46cm speed board with a 21 asy. Got a heap of 38s on it, but nothing more. A bit underdone. The wind started to back off but the tide was dropping so the speeds were pretty constant. Back on the slalom board for a couple more 38s then called it quits. Interesting that the speed board was the same speed as the slalom board. Both felt lit off the wind so it was probably just the water state making things a bit slow today. Pretty stoked to get a 37.5kt 500m there. Min speed was 33-34 for about 6 seconds so maybe with some more wind a 500 could just fit.

Good crew out. Great to see Jesper and Annika having a crack at the beaver strip. Claude came back out for round 2 so he probably has some ks under the belt. And tomski looked stoked after getting a PB.

Looks like woodies was the go today!! Ado! And Norts, thats a mighty fine NM for leighton, and not bad peaks either. I think that 32 is not too far off if one of us wastes a good speed day to have a crack at it. Leave that to one of you fellas...

Port Beach with Norts, Darryl, Rowan, Marcus, luke, Murray and a few others.

Wind was solid earlier on at about 3-430 then was pretty gusty for the rest of the time.

Nice bit of swell and bear aways for ledge to lanno practice.

Darryl broke his board and was did some fitness triathlon training. With a windsurf, swim and walk.

Isonic 87, Vector volt 34 (sweet) then zfin 32 (bad upwind in this combo and rough water) , reflex 3 pre prod.

Woodies!

Choked to gills with kiters but nice breeze and I managed to charge through the gaps enough times to grab a solitary 40 peak. This is my first 40 peak at Woodies so very happy with that!

There are many hazards at Woodies which is why I am an infrequent visitor; masses of kiters, plus freestyle windsurfers all trying to do their thing in a very small patch of very flat water, but today with the high tide it was still the right call.

Manta 49 / JP45, Warp 6.3, KA/ Lockwood 23.

Nice to see you cracked a 40 out there today Ado. Cool

Felt like the breeze was still building when I left, but I had to be home in time for dinner.

Smokin ocean mile Norts, 32 not far away I think.
