Kyeemagh, NSW, AU

Stupidly rigged a sail that was too small for the wind at that time and also went out on too small a board. Slogged around for an hour or so then decided to at least get my bigger board. Slogged around on that for another hour before I decided I may as well rig my bigger sail. Did that and had a ball chasing Michael all over the place and doing some nice long downwind runs all the way to the end of the runway. Why didn't I rig this gear to start with!!!Yell

Sailed until I could literally not hold on anymore as I had massive forearm pump. I think the damage was done with all the slogging I did early on in the gusty conditions. Good to see the big boys doing their slalom training with a blow in from Qld keeping them all honest.

Hope it's on again tomorrow, the forecast looks good!

What a great way to end the holidays! Windy & sunny afternoon.

Not that I'm counting Wink but here's the numbers:

  • 5 week holiday (38 days)
  • 22 days sailed (4 days per week)
  • 2293 kilometres
  • average of 104.25km per day
I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow in the great NE'er while I'm desk jockeying, pushing my computer to 30 knots.

Didnt look that windy & only had about an hour to sail so i figured i'd make sure i was powered up. Just wasn't fun.. every stink boat in SYdney must have been in pittwater, like riding through a washing machine with fun added weed thrown into the mix.

Started with a surf at Long Reef, coffee, pies from Collaroy Pie Shop Tongue out

...then out to Kyeemagh for a sail & finish with a beer, then Mamak for dinner. Yeeeha.

Like Rexie, rigged too small & suffered in the varying conditions.

Nice PB there Dave!

Trekked up from Wollongong for a holiday treat.  First time in about 5 years I reckon I've sailed at BB.  Lovely to be on a normal fin and not the pre-requisite weed fin required for Lake Illawarra.  7.5 Gaastra Matrix, 105l hypersonic.

I had forgotten how busy the bay gets.  In Wollongong, we normally have to try a few spots befor we can find a buddy to windsurf with!!

Great arvo only spoiled only by a broken boom, which was disappointing as the wind was starting to build and i was starting to get into the zone. Enter Michael Thomson who very kindly sorted me out,....thanx heaps Mike. What a guy, what a machine!(enjoy work today mate)Wink

A quick switch down to the Talon fin and everything felt sweeeet as.(should have done that earlier) And doing it all again today,…..whoohoo!!Cool

geez Mike, we're nice and even until you get to the distance Cry

I reckon we should both be happy with cracking 30 today, they were VERY testing conditions.

Congrats on your holiday efforts. You nearly managed to sail further in 4 weeks than I have since GPSTC started!!

Thanks Guys - Felt nice and comfy on the bigger set up today.

Mike the 2sec PB was on that one runway run I did, and as far as the distance probably would have toped it if I hadn't changed gear.

Pretty Chuffed - nice way to start the year.Laughing

Onya Dave. I saw you turn downwind at the runway and it looked like a good move. Summer has finally arrived if only for a few days.

Michael - yes that was me - parked in the front row with the trailer clad in dark (blackish) colorbond.  I had a suspicion I was rubbing shoulders with several of the more famous cockroaches - would have been good to meet a few of the lads.  Will send advance notice next time!!
