Chris Dimond (5865km): Lake George, SA, AU Severne Reflex II 6.2, iSonic Speed 49, Choco Weed 24 Great turn out of local and interstate sailors. We waited for the forecast 25-35 to hit, and eventually it started to fill in around 2pm. I'd only been sailing for 40 mins and was still finding my groove when I lost it at the end of my peak run and put the Choco Weed through the bottom of my foot - bugger. Managed to sail back (reminds me to wash the blood off the board), then Daffy bandaged me up with gaffer tape - thanks mate, I'll buy you a beer at the Fishy pub next time Im over. Couldn't get back out on the water, so drove to the Robe medical centre for stitches, then home to Adelaide - arrived midnight. The wind was cranking wen I left - arrgghh!! Spotty was flying, Kato had some 43's, Choco some 42/43's, Chris Adamson was of course very fast but had a BIG stack and spent 2 hours walking his trashed gear back through the thigh-deep mud/weed - broken boom, broken mast, punctured board. Bummer mate. Disappointed as the lake probably won't be sailable when I can get back on the water and I was really looking forward to improving some PBs. Good luck to the other guys still there - go hard!!
Tricky (3458km): Lake George SA stand by for report about the interstate onslaught Dave invited me to stay with him at Lake George and I couldn't resist the offer. Sailed Daves Tabau and thought I had some smoking runs until I downloaded my track & dropped 5 points. My GPS was somehow reading MPH (thanks Daffy for sorting that out) I was really stoked with the 42 on the dial but was a bit devestated at the end when I realised it was MPH. Sailed the KA5.8 & the 26 Choco speed weed but was a bit off the pace. I went over the handle bars a couple of times and should have changed down to the 5m (coulda, woulda, shoulda!), Oh well, I will never know if that would have been faster. Decided to quit before I did any serious damage. Lots of imports from Vic and WA and greatto catch up with them all for tea at the Pub. Hope Chris D's foot is OK
Dave M (3481km): Lake George, SA, AU.
