Swan Bay, VIC, AU

Severne 6.7, 118L JP Super Sport Pro, 33cm Weedie

Headed over west to see what all the fuss was about on a northerly... well at least Mick, Dan & Jacques got some of it before it died off.  After one half decent bear off down wind to Swan Island, the wind decided to almost do a 180, which made getting back to the yacht clubhouse, shall we say, a little fun (read - nice long walk in the mud) !

Really frustrating session.  Wind was good when we got there so rigged my 5.9 and got out there.  Spent ages trying to get upwind to Jacques NM run - kept cathing weed on my fin and couldnt point high enough, turns out i should have stayed in the middle channel.  By the time i got up to the start of the run the wind died off.  So all results are from upwind runs except for the one run coming back to the car which was massively underpowered.

LOCATION:  SWAN BAY

WIND : N-NW- 15-20, dropping to <10, turning W then SW

GEAR:  Carbon Art FR63, KA Koyote 6.6, Makani Hahalua 28 Weed, changed up to Carbon Art Fr-77, Makani Hahalua 33cm

Details:  Really full tide and lots of wind early.  Long runs where you didnt hve to worry about the banks too much!.  A good chance to get the smaller Carbon Art and give it a go.  Felt nice although the Makani fin needed a bit of work to release.  Once it was going it felt quite stable.  Wind started to shift and drop, so I came in and changed up boards.  Wasn't really worth it as I got one more run on the Westerly change before it turned SW...(home time)
