Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU  Great wind, big crowd, a few more cockroaches. Just signed up Rob so a good day for the Gustbusters. A bit creaky, a short sail for me. Who said there wasn't much weed? The 38 degree weedie didn't work. Naish Hybrid, North 5.3. big 45 degree weedie.

Quite a windy, gusty westerly on the Lake. Some very strong gusts, and tough going at times. Great to see so many sails on the water. Went out with a retro 25 year old 4.6 m sail. It went better than I expected actually.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU  Windy westerly - gusts up to 46 knots at Albion Park!

Started off on my R3 7m - what was I thinking! Surprisingly managable sail even when completely overpowered - the board and fin combo just could not handle the power. Changed down to the Matrix 5.5 , and although it worked well I struggled to dial in to the conditions. I need a better small sailMoney mouth.

Fantastic to see so many people out - must have been close to 15 out - plenty of water to accomodate all.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU great day on the water with the team as well as  rexy, MT, and Leo from the cockroaches,

finally got  everything dialed in  except i was getting to much lift either from the fin or the sailFrown but how much power has this little 4.6rs sail got, had to bail out on a few down wind runs because the board was lifting , had a look at the fin and it looked fine except for a few bumps, wouldn't think a 22weed fin would be too big   ca44,custom weed22, 4.6 npr

highlight of the day watching LEO, always an inspiration hope there's a PB there

Maiden voyage of modified (noseless) john hall hybrid. Home made fin let us down big time way too flexy, definitely bigger things to come...

5.2 ezzy wave

A bit blowy but lots of fun. The new board has lots of potential, having trouble with the fin but should be capable of some serious speed.

Modified john hall hybrid and 5.2 Ezzy SE wave.

Congrats to Rob for some massive speeds, I heard he later broke the 40knt barrier!!!

Great PB's Darren, particularly the alpha - you were smoking!

Well done on the NM PB Ben - there is nothing like a 25 year old sail (first time it has been used in 15 years!)Smile

Welcome to the team Rob. A good start. Congrats on the 40.25 GPS peak, magnificent.  The 2 second peaks always knock a bit off. Ask Leo about that.

great day yesterday ,if only those conditions happened more often.thanks to everyone for their congratulations and leo for the photo.i was extatic to see over 40 kt on the gps ,seeing it nocked backed to the 2 second average is a bit disapointing.it wont feel official till i see a 2 second above 40.i am confident though.well done on everyone day ,plenty of pb`s.and leo i hope you manage to get the results off youre gps,i am sure there will be some impressive runs.

think i have caught the bug ,time to get serious about gear now.think i can see a racing sail coming.
