Beach day again today, sailed from Hollaways in a gusty 5 to 15Knt with direction swinging from SE to SW. As i was rigging the wind look like it was up to 20 so i rigged the 6.7 and grabbed my 90, but by the time i hit the water it had dropped out again so i headed out on the 107. Had one good little squirt off the wind were i got my peak and Nm then the wind dropped out again. Dredged around for the next hr but as i was about to give it away for the day the wind came back and gave my a few good little runs and all the slogging around was forgotten.Smile

Used 2012 Isonic 107 Carbon, Overdrive 6.7 and superfast 39Cool

Port Douglas, QLD, AU       Arrived at 4 Mile Beach about 11 am and measured 13 knots on beach....My knowledge of this beach is a bit stale but I figured there may be a bit more out wide.    Anyway, I did not want to be overpowered so rigged a 5.9m Loft 02.    Just about to go out and Fast Freddy arrived with HoppyBob to rig and carry his gear.    Also Big Ed came down for a look see and said he would go home and get his gear.      Of course, there were kiters a plenty, but I figured they would avoid little old me. (which they did).       Anyway I took the 120l S/cross out and alas, I could not get on plane.    I thought, this is it, I will be down the other end for sure and have a long walk of shame.    On the third reach, things improved and I was happy to get a couple of slow jibes and try to keep in touch with Freddy.  On  the last couple of my runs, I was feeling the strain and decided to call it quits.      Pleased to get back in the warm surf.

Green Island, Isonic 97, Sting 34, 6.4 Koncept, 10-20 knots.

Awesome day at the island. Started off with the CA53 but wasn't enough wind to keep it planing so went back in to Toody's toy shop for a big board. Was starting to get really comfortable on the isonic until I hit something in the water and had my biggest catapult in the last few years. Ended up still hooked in, upside down with my head between the boom and sail. Glad no cameras were out today. Feels like I have bruised kidneys as well as a sore shoulder and lump on the side of my head. Might need some drugs to get going tomorrow.

Really happy with the alpha for a big board, have always done best on small gear before.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Hoppy Bob and I went to Port to have a look and maybe a sail with Herb and Ed.

Wind was very ordinary but managed to get a couple of runs in before I broke a harness line.

Come in to fix and decided to take out the SL55.......wrong move....wind dropped and had another

swim and walk. Bob and Herb went for a drive looking for me but  got back under my own steam.

All ok ........LG ....Life's (not very ) Good .....sometimes.

Nice K's gaz! It's about time you made the effort! Nice alpha too, you should have grabbed Toody's 87 Isonic if you wanted a smaller one, cant wait for some wind so i can give my 90 a good go!

Nice work Gaz, big day out. Looks like you and snags are having a race toward the 10,000 mark, and Kels not far off either.

Good to see a few of you guys out further north too. Heaps of wind here today too but work is cramping my style atm.

Hey Kel, I've been holding back trying to give Snags a chanceWink. Ended up being enough wind for the CA53 but by then I would have had to walk the reef.
