Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU  Tide out again, thought I'd try a few alphas rather than dice in the super shallows. Must be going w bit wide.  Naish supacross, Hellcat 5.7

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU

A very good day. Really started to dial into the board. Next step will be a smaller fin. and maybe a smaller sail.

Modified John Hall 83L and 6.0 NP V8.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Primbee. Westerly, gusts up to 47 knots recorded at the Airport, but mostly 25 - 35 knots.

Great day on the lake - got there early (before 8am) and already half a dozen people there rigging upSmile. Went with the 5.5m and JP Speed, but had trouble with the Black Project fin. Back in and changed boards to the iSonic, which had the MU fin in Had fun for about an hour and then decided to put the MU Delta on the JP. Keef kindly loaned me his Evo3 5.5. This was the right combo and set my best speeds on this. Very impressed with the JP - sweet board and a lot easier to sail that I thought it might be. The MU Delta fin worked very well in the JP - probably better than in the iSonic - just the right fin for the shallow, weedy lake.

A big thanks to Keef for the loan of the sail and to Sam (WSnS) for the loan of the JP.

JP Speed 45, iSonic 76, Gaastra Matrix 5.5, NP Evo3 5.5, Black Project Weed Speed 28, MU Delta Slalom 176

Nice speed keef, I'm going to have to really work to get near that.

But it's on my to do list, I'm after 70km/hr before I'm 70. You aren't quite there, 37.6kts is only 69.635km/hr. but I guess your instantaneous display would have just made it????

Yeh well done fellas that's what we need pbs. No.2 position  this late in the month, no more wind forecast for the next week anywhere in the country is there?

Who's going to be the first Gustbuster to crack a 40knot 2 second? A few contenders! You could throw a 6.2 blanket over them at the moment.

Holy moly Batman! Where do I start? Best team effort yetLaughing

Darren - your numbers just confirm how you looked on the water - great. Going deeper downwind has certainly upped your speed. Fantastic 1 hour and distance btw.

Anibal - short and sweet! Great to see you getting to grips with the 76Smile Great 2 sec & NM.

Philip - the new boy is  fast!!! great numbers mate.

John - so the race to 40 is on! A smaller fin will add speed plus sailing in calmer(shallower) water will help. Holding on to the 6.0 in some of those gusts was crazy! Great alpha btwSmile

Terry - love the 1 hour - was that new kit you were on?

Keef - team inspiration (did someone say backbone?) - fantastic 2 sec PB - those EVO's are great sails. Thanks for all your help.

To Rob & Mark - commiserations for missing a great day on the water - I'm sure there's another epic day coming up - save up the sickies Rob.
