bushfire (6668km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU. IYC, Southerly 15-25 knots. Nice and sunny A fun sail with Peter, John, Ken and Terry. Nice run across the flats in front of the Yacht club. I broke a batten on the 6.5 so sailed back in and changed to the 5.6. The wind was picking up and started setting some reasonable speeds, and then disaster - broken mast. A 3/4 hour swim home! Missed the best of the wind.

TERRY (5144km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Looking for TEX, who in the Speedsters are getting into their boardshorts. Took off from home after the wind picked up in the afternoon, really choppy going towards the island. Smooth water and shallow at Speed strip no. 2. Who ran over that mutten bird. Glen, another warranty claim, name that mast. Sailed home and into a hot shower. Naish 96l supercross Loft 5.9 freeride

jdemol (1106km): Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU Heaps of trouble posting, couldn't log on...all good now, seemed to be a problem with google chrome. Joined Ken, Wayne and Martin on the lake just as the wind started to kick in. After sailing from the club the last few sessions, I went to primbee today to be sociable and everyone else went to the club! felt a bit cut Wind was pretty good 15-20 kts from SSW when I went out, got better and better with some good 25+ kt gusts coming through. Flat water in front of the jetty perfect for jibing, felt like I was pulling a few G's on some of the gibes Sorry about Glen with the broken mast and Ken with the sprained ankle. I also broke a boom if its any consolation. Glad to see you got back alright Glen. Got back to the car and found someone tried to break in and mangled my drivers door lock in the process, however the volvo proved invulnerable to attack so thankfully my wallet and everything else was safe. But I'd advise non-volvo owners to be careful there in future. Chopped slalom board ~85L and 6.0 np V8 |
