Wow - what a difference a new board makes.  After struggling to push my Hypersonic over 30 knots even with big bare-aways, my new (second hand) Fanatic Falcon 104 blasted a full knot faster, even with an oversized fin and no bear-aways.  Don't tell me wife - I'm not meant to be using it till after my birthday!!  6.6 Gaastra Nitro 4, Makane 38cm weed fin.  First time on the Makani weed fin at it felt great - points like an upright fin.  I suppose I need to isolate the effect of the board and try the week fin on my hypersonic, but it seem impressive.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU    Another beautiful day at Primbee.

Went sailing with GPS on in morning, came in afternoon GPS turned off. Did not lock key.

Recorded data but could have had more Kms, could have been worse.

Naish 96l Supercross     Loft 5.3 freeride [all day]

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU. IYC, Westerly 5 - 25 knots.

First day of the club season. Early sailing on the slalom board but the wind was quite light and patchy. For the club races sailed the Phantom. The lake chop was brutal for the raceboard - no way to avoid nosediving the board going downwindFrown - hard work!

Back on the slalom board for some after race sailing - best session of the daySmile

Phantom 377, SV R3 9.2

Keef - thanks for the fin tips - I need somebody with you experience to push me to try different things.  I have a Drake 30 weed fin coming in the mail shortly which should open up another 8cm of lake depth!!  I'll see how that goes/feels before maybe trying something smaller again.
