Herby (12064km): Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU Sat around the dam yakking for about an hour and then suddenly there was a bit of wind so hurriedly rigged the 7.4m and went out on the S/cross. On the first reach the wind suddenly stopped and didn't come back.
Ed (4724km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU Got a nice sail in after lunch wasn't sure if the wind gods were in a good mood or not, wind was from about 14 to 17 kts with most of the action out wide was going to rig big, but really wanted to use 6.6m sail on new falcon as i have done a few more changes and wanted to try it out. think i have got it sorted as i had a very confortable sail and Falcon was doing everything right,I threw it at every wave i could find and stayed happy the whole time. Speed was crap but i didn't do a down winder as wind wasn't that strong and tide was going the wrong way.wind dropped out at about 5oclock it was game over for me, 10 minutes later it came back in James was still blasting around when i left..over all a fun sail...and at the end of the day that is what it is all about ,having some fun..Many thanks to Bob again for fixing GPS the man is a bloody genius..unlike me...Cheers Ed.
Kel (13168km): Green Island! Ripper day sailing with Cam and Ricco at the island and Arlington reef, wind was a bit light for most of the sail at Arilington but came in a bit at the end which made for some exiciting bareaways as the tide was in making it fairly choppy. Happy with the Nm as it was only 15 to maybe 20 in the biggest gusts when i was having a go at them. Used 2012 Isonic 107 carbon Overdrive 7.5 and 42 soft horrible flexy fin.
dr cam (16004km): Green Island, QLD, AU Sailed Arlington Reef today with boat back up .Gear ISO 97 carbon (thanks Toody) Sting 38 RSR E 2 7.8 Wind was all over with lots of fronts moving through Finding smooth water was a challenge to say the least -mostly too much EAST in the wind today .The Arlington NM run was a mess ... Had a couple of good squirts down the inside of Arlington as a front moved through which improved to top speed from 27 knots to 33.77 on the screen . Good fun & thanks to KEL for some nice numbers-nice NM KEL in those conditions !!
Rico (383km): Started day with a sleep under the trees. Not enough wind. However at 1300hrs the wind started to come in. By the time we were leaving it was screaming! If only I could have stayed that little bit longer (over night). |
