Sandy Point, Vic, AU

First day of speed fortnight and the wind Gods gave us something to warm up with. A westerley with a fair bit of north meant we were up the Yanakie channel as opposed to the strip. There was some wind earlier on down the strip that the northern Pit crew and Bushie went chasing but too much coffee drinking meant they were late on it and only got 1 or 2 runs in before we spent a couple of hours talking shit on the beach. When it finally came it was nice with sunshine and some flat water but with a run in tide some awful pyramid chop too.

Still, it was a great warm up for what we hope will be a classic day tomorrow.

First day at the Pit! After standing around in the drizzle and calm air, the sun came out and a nice 18 knot westerly picked up. Good fun!

Short sail at Kurnell in the beautiful sunshine. Not to fast (to be honest, sub-planning most of the time...) but good to be out.

Highlight of the day was when a 40 foot cruiser blocked my path just as a gust came... so I just had to slow down, go behind, and accelerate over the wake! WWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Big Air for an 8.6m sail!

Sinky rs2 wasn't such a good idea.

jp xcite ride 104L, 35cm random fin, and 8.6m sail. even that wasn't enough! i need a bigger board.
