Dorans, TAS, AU

Got down to Dorans just after 9am and not that windy, so rigged the iSonic 107 with Reflex 7.0 and C3 Sting II 42 fin.  Soon as I hit the water the wind came in quite strong so started a 1hr.  Pretty powered up for the whole hour and at almost exactly 60 minutes, the wind swung and dropped, so was lucky to get it in.  Wind up and down after that.

Steve got down around 12 noon and I gave him my gear to use to do a 1hr as his new 107 hasn't arrived yet.  Hopefully we'll average above 20 knots!  I thought I'd have gotten a better 1 hour, but it includes 39 gybes (more than one every two minutes), as there wasn't much room to sail in the SW'ly that was blowing.

Thanks for the lend of the gear Dave. Oh what a feeling (Toyota) being able to rock up and not have to get your gear out and rig up. Wind was up and down swinging S-SW. Some section were very flat and made for some fun sailing. Keep saying it but the 2012 Isonic 107 and R3 7.0 is such an awesome combo. I put in the 40cm sting 2 C3 not the 42cm Dave used.

Agree with Steve, that the 107/7.0m combo is absolutely awesome.  Probably has the widest wind range around.  Powered up in the strong winds on the edge of control and still planning and going fast in the lighter stuff.  Gotta use that combo more often!  I had another go after Steve came in and the 40 Sting II felt great too.  More control in the gusts and still able to point.
