4454 days ago Those crazy Swedes :-)
Henrick Schill is here for his new board. We have talked a lot about the Swedish way to speedsail so we could get a better understanding to develop a series for flat water. Ron designed a 58 for 7.0 and down. We were lucky enough to get a light/medium wind day on the verge of being strong enough for the board. I sailed with some Swedish settings amongst them an 8.5 on the 63 Carbon Art. A combo which we don't use while we are sailing in similar conditions.
First of all the NP 8.6 felt really sweet in combination with the Hurricane Weed 28. I now understand better just how the Norhtern crew succeds in riding such strange combo's (just an opionion of course :-). I feel the translation Ron and I were after is working and although I wasn't fully focussed on the day ranking I still managed some good average speeds on the different set I used. I set nearly the same speeds on the CA63 and 8.6 as on the USM 58 with the Simmer 7.0. 7.8 was clearly the size today and I am happy with the way our speedfin works. Even in light wind light today it's already a match against upright fins.
