6.6m koncept, 58 f2 sx, 31cm pepeweed, Started out contemplating the wind with Stroppo while a few more of the mob showed up, and decided to rig for the conditions and not the forecast. Chose well too as the 6.6 was well powered up most of the time and keeping the 90 going strong. Good to see most of the mob out on a nice day with the seabreeze giving us an indication of the coming summer Cool

Safety Bay, WA, AU Futura 101 & CA SP50, NP RS Slalom MK IV 6.2

Good Fun session at SB, Work prevented me from going to cervantes, Started on the Carbon Art but changed up to the 101 when the wind felt a bit iffy. Tide made the run a bit bumpy but some good speeds were still done by some of the others.

Christened the new 2013 Futura which went well did some really nice alphas the board can carve in at 30 which my old one couldn't and I got close to the same peak out of it to what I got out of the SP50. Can't wait to put the 7.0 and a bigger fin in it, I think it will be a rocketship.

You'd think after 30yrs of windsurfing I'd know how to rig for the conditionsYell

Well didn't go as planed , but I enjoyed myself with the mob.

Think it's stroppo's fault, he sent me home to get my small board, which I rigged with the 5.3 and the 19cm woody weedy. I'm sure if Ihadn't done that the wind wouldn't have died!!!

Tried the 5.3 on the 53 with the 25.5, not enough oomph, so I came in and rigged the 6.0. Fortunate for Barry, cause he'd left his boom home, and the 5.3 worked well on his bigger board.

Pleased with my top alpha, speeds are even in both legs, and the seperation is 40m

Hardies run, went there because I was expecting a strong breeze which never came!! maybe 16knts.. very up and down. still nice to catch up with the crew after all the time. Also it nice to have a sail on the estuary. Not enough for power jibe, no speed just back and foward, study study cruisy, wanted to test the Sting II, awesome fin across the wind, not sure about speed, I need to train on it, have not sailed pointer for long time. the 28 was more that enough, I recon on a solid breeze I could do with a 26 easy

Anyway, fun pleasant session Cool

RRD80L, RSR5.8, StingII 28

ps: JJJ Mike good Alpha for the condition!!

Tabou Thunder 70cm, NP RSR E11 6.2, JP Weed 31cm

Cervantes Nov 2012

Wind came in around 9am,

It picked up around 10 am

It was 6.2 weather just after 11am Then it just got strongerSurprised

The radar gun came out at 12pm there was already carnage out there and the sand storm was diabolical.

After much fluffing around changing harness lines eventually hit the water, holy sheet it's a wee bit blowy sailed out toward the small island tried a gybe got almost all the way round when I got monstered by a gust over the bars and into the sail, hearing the "crack" knew there was a batten goneYell Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh good start, water started witht he bottom of the sail flapping around a bit, hit the run, a bit exciting on the way but smoothyed out nicley just past the gun, high 33 on the dial first run, oooooooooo nice.

Sailed back out straight into the chop, German gybed out the back and of into another run, woo hoo 36 on the dial, bit of fun though getting back to shore as it was very broad down the coarse and the shore went away from the line.

Back on shore quickly sorted out a new bottom batten and back into it, hmmm the wind seems to have picked up some.

The runs weren't going to bad a bit exciting bearing of as I was pretty much over done, had my first "Of" off the day when I went into the run out of shape managed to get it sorted then back on the power, not long after got hit by a bullet as i hit a bit of a ramp, front foot came out and dragged in the water, held it together for a bit before the inevitable happened, surfaced with my back foot still stuck in the strap and to find that Blair had a bugs view of the windshield coming to clean him up as I stopped a boards length away from him (thank goodness, as I didn't even see him).

The afternoon was just getting hairier and hairier, decided to flag it after fully leaning out on a run when a gust hit me turning the run into a laydown gybe/crash in an instant.

Memorable moments of the day.

Watching Issac, Daryl and Matt having their gear dialed and looking nice a smooth down the run. You guys were awesomeCoolCoolCool

Watching John Norton go on run then get hit by  a bullet sending him on a torpedo run aiming at the the large crayboat whilst trying to steer away.

Bender doing a run with the chopper behind him starts his bear away only to hit some chop and get the board launched about 2 foot out of the water, kept the power on chattering past the vans with a good 4-6" of air under his board, all the time with the Helicopter dead center behind him. Mate you were on itCoolCoolCool

Snides for his freestyle runs down the run.

Col and the chopper pilot for getting in that close and personal it looked like they were trying to trim the tops of peoples sails.

Thoughts go out to Isaac who was dominating the conditions all day till his misadventure, hope you recover well.

Huge thanks To Reg and the radar ladies for another top eventCool
