Record hot weather for Hobart and a pretty good NNW'ly blowing. Sailed Pittwater on iSonic 86, new 2013 Reflex4 6.2 and Venom 34 fin. Pretty difficult conditions. Gusty, especially when you got anywhere near being close to the causeway and unpredictable, with squalls puffing through at about 30-40 knots amongst the 0 knot lulls!! Flat water was close to the 2-3m high causeway. but sail at you peril as downdrafts throw your rig around!!
About 8 sailors out enjoying (or at least surviving) the conditions. Wanted to venture further afield, but it just wasn't tempting to sail off the wind into the choppy 'whatever' that might have been happening down around the two islands.
New 2 sec spot record for Pittwater I think!! GPS Results gave me 38.090, but RealSpeed and KA72 both brought it back to 37.97!
Good fun and hard work. I think today was the first time I've ever unhooked deliberately when going off the wind as it felt like the gusts would just slam you if they got you!!

4370 days ago 2 categories Pittwater. Windy but up and down. Very hard work out there today. Tested out a couple of C3 proto fins today which was good to try some different fins. Well done to all who sailed and well done Dave on your top 2 sec. Isonic 2013 carbon 90 (this board is so fast for its size), 34cm Venom and new R4 6.2. Awesome combo.

Fun HOT HOT HOT sail... 42deg man my beer was nice when I got home!!!
That was surer hard work today for all of us just so gusty and hard work just getting going, Dave put on a show for us well done Dave.
Pitwater is back but MAN those PB's do not come easy here. We all had a fantastic sail in the board shorts and tee's.
It was so impressive to see everyone pointing upwind into 40knots on the 6.3 then bearing off in super gusts. well done everyone!!
Cheers Russ

4370 days ago 1 categories Pitt Water, Causeway. Sailed up from 5 mile later in the arvo. Heaps of Gusty wind as i sailed to the causeway, got one OK run in then the wind dropped off to much for my sail. My best run was on the way back to 5 mile. So hot rigging up!
