Boggy Lake, SA, AU (100lt/6.7m/35cm)

Sunny afternoon sail with a good turn out; Carl, Leon, Chris D, Andreas, Chris S, Geoff, Gareth and some others I didn't know.  It was slightly patchy but saying that I still planed 99% of the three-ish hours I spent on the water.  Carl and I had a blast chasing each other around the reed bank looking for downwinder and alpha opportunities.  Chris D looked his usual good form and Gareth was out road-testing his new toy.  I reckon everyone had a great day all round.

Soooo knackered now, but definitely worth it.  Each session I become more convinced I need to run a bigger fin for this combo, I can't seem to generate enough lift.

Wow..a PB!  Surprised - I wouldn't have thought the conditions were enough, but I'll take it!

AB67, 6.6 KA, 30 weedy then Sputnik

Was hoping for the same, or stronger, conditions as yesterday but had to settle for a gentle breeze. Was hard to get the AB to plane but once up it was sweet . The garfish were jumping and me and richard collected one each, I don't think mine survived. Kept at it but wind stayed 10-15 and towards the end swapped to the trusty Sputnik to give Richard a contest. Simon sailed too and later set up the kids rig for his lad who was doing a good job ( 12yo ) and we watched from the lawn. Managed to get a 30 in the light wind only because i got on the glass patch in a stronger gust (18knots) and by the time i came around again for another crack the patch had dissapeared. Tricky was king today and worked the 7.9 well all session.

Cheers JeffSmile

Great arvo sea breeze at Boggy lake.  Got there 1st to try and catch a carp - no cigar.  Weather was cloudy and no wind in sight.  After lunch the cloud started to break and the weather warmed up.  Trousers turned up and brought the wind with himSmile.  Decided on the 7m as the wind was picking up.  Used the '12 Fanatic 113 and opted for the Black Project R425 as the wind looked gusty.  What a combo - this board is amazing considering its size and the fin allowed me to point so made for a nice cruisy session.  Great turnout and had great fun chasing Trousers on some downwinders and criss cross actionSmile.

Boggy lake - 13 - 20 knots.

thanks guys...this string of PBs is sure to end soon, but hopefully not too soon!  still want to hit a 22kt alpha this season.  *crosses fingers*

always good to ride with you Carl - it makes me dig deeper, although as I found out y'day, there is such thing as too deep off the wind!  Surprised

interesting (to me at least) was to look at my alphas y'day.  my alphas are spread amongst both port and starboard, but my technique is far better on the starboard.  the best alpha I dropped to 12kts, but my seventh quickest alphas I got around no slower than 15kts, but ended with an alpha over a knot slower than my best on the day.  so obviously while keeping speed thru the turn is important, the real trick is coming in quick and accelerating as hard as possible post rig flip, even if you're a bit more clunky thru the turn.
