Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU

Sat around for a couple of hours yesterday, optimistic that the forecast wind would actually happen Frown

Today, I was pessimistic. Driving home from work - nah, no good, I'll have a look anyway; driving to Australind - nah, no good, I'll get the gear out anyway. I figured if the wind did come in, it would be strong, but with holes everywhere, so I put the NP RS5.8 up on the Iso110 with a small (28 Weedster). I figured the sail and fin would cope with the gusts and the board would keep me afloat in the lulls.  So all rigged up - nah, no good, bugger it, Ill go and get wet anyway.  Well, as I walked down to the water and as I put the board in the wind came in. Pessimism is the answer!! you have to trick the wind gods.  Carry on like a sad sack and it works every time

First sail on the RS and boy did this thing feel powerful. Fully powered up and water was quite choppy, fear was in my heart. Got 32kts, then decided to change to my ISO76. Much more in control, but didnt really go a lot faster. I need to sort the rigging of this sail better. feels like not enough downhaul, though the length is about right. The cams are absolute shits of things. Very difficult to rotate, fluffed most of my gybes because I was in the drink before I could get them to snap. Cant say im loving it yet, but could be my fault.

All in all a great sail, pretty intense Tongue out

Nice one Rob. Yep sounds like more down haul would fix that. Those Evo1 RSR are unreal
