Pelican Point, WA,

Great arvo on the R7.8m, first up with the iS127 then it filled in for 10 minutes and had a go on the iS94 purchased yesterday which handles the 7.8 nicely. Back on the iS127 as it dropped off. Unfortunately a stink boat decided not to keep a look out or believe I had right of way and we ran into each other Yell My beautiful board now has an impression of his bow from one rail to the other and my sunnies are at the bottom of the Swan. Luckily no damage to me. Apart from that a great arvo - got a mate out on a windsurfer for the first time in 3 years and put a big smile on his dial!

Peli Pt...A little fluffy at first, then filled in in the late avro.  Staying in the wind is a good idea... avoid the wind shadows, they suck!

Really flat sometimes and a motor-cross track at other times... depending on the number of stinkers!!!

Techy stuff: 2007 Loft Blade 7.5, 2011 Carbon Art Slalom 108l, 40 cm talon.

Exhilarating little sesh at Leighton. Cool

After the festering shite I sailed in at Peli on Friday I went coastal and found a lovely 18-23K breeze at Leighton.

Well powered on the Mistral 112 + 7.6 TR7 + 40 Sting.

Only went for one mile, and it's a pretty lame effort for the naughty comp.  I wasn't going deep enough, and when I did start to get lit I was a long way offshore and got nervous about going out too far.  The M112 was also getting pretty hairy in the big waves, so I might need to have another crack when I'm powered up on something smaller.

Apart from that it was just brilliant being back on the ocean, and I was really enjoying blasting around fully powered on the race gear, getting launched off the swells.

Had a few drags with another couple of slalom guys.  That was fun Cool.

Great work-out.  Really need to get some of that training under my belt for the next LOC campaign.

Safety Bay, WA, AU 73 Mistral speed, 5.8K 24 weedy

Should have used my Sonic and 6.4 but wasn't feeling very energetic so I thought I'd rig small and see how the Mistral performs when underpowered, and practice gybing it with less speed. I wasn't very successful but I am getting the hang of it and at least I have now adjusted the footstraps so I can get my feet out smoothly.

Highlight of the day was meeting and chatting to FormulaNova of the ACT Gustbusters, and catching up with the Safety Bay division of the Mandurah Mob.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Lightish winds so rigged 7.5 Turbo on 98 Xfire with 38 fin.

Enjoyable afternoon of sailing with lots of others on the water, and even more in the car park.

Final day of course.

Beach drills and on water by the jetty with a reward of a wave session to finish. Tacking and forward loop prep.

Happy with the tacks and even got some almost planing ones!

Couldn't really get in the right spot on the smaller swell and got frustrated watching Guy ripping it on wave after wave!

Really trying to focus on hand movement and getting the back and front hands properly back down the boom.

Kaos 4.7, rider x-onshore.

Yes the stink boats are a problem. Do not rely on them seeing us.

Today I went infront of a tinnie moving slowly with 3 kids on board. They had no idea I was there until I went past their nose at 20 Knots, then they all shouted with surprise. Quite good fun in some respects but probably a bit risky as well.

Sorry about the board and sunnies Patrick. Very glad you are OK.

Annita, missed you down there which was weird.  Pond aint that big!!! Oh well next time. Think we must have been feeling the same, had no energy either so the gybing was also the go for me.  Think I had one good gybe the whole day which turned out to be my PB, the rest were a bit tragic. Surprised

Bummer Patrick...I almost had a collision with a row of crab pot floats and lines that some idiot had strung right across the sailing line...just managed to bear away at the last moment...gave him a mouthful and he promptly pulled them up and pissed off!

MParka, regarding your accident, i read with sorrow. Your speed sighted from the shore with your majestic is127 was most impressive and I congratulate you on your endeavours.

Sorry about yopur board Patrick.  I was sure everyone hada to get a skipper license. What was his excuse? Has he stopped at all?

Obelix, he did his best to stop once at the end which saved me from a "proper" accident. He and his mate had no idea that they were in the wrong, that they should maintain a proper lookout and give way to sail. Lesson for me is not to go anywhere near them, I should've known better!

Did the boat go right over the top of your board? Is it just scraped or isi it creased?

Macka Packa

I suspect it went under the bow a little Anita. I dumped the board and had to push myself off the boat's bow with both feet. I think it is scraping not creasing. I'll take it to Mr Strathfold and see what he can do.

Bugger! A wake up call to all of us to never assume that anyone on the river has seen you!

I know it is small consolation but at least you are in one piece, Macka!

Hope the prognosis for the board is not too bad. Don't suppose the guy offered to sort the damage???!!!
