Obelix (1397km): Pinnaroo Point. Futura 101, 7m, Tectonics GW 38cm. A bump and (no) jump session at the home patch. Tested Futura and the new fin in the chop. To test the FO Weedster 32 next time...
Birdman (1819km): Pelican Point, WA, AU Distance mission today. Totally stoked with the PB. If the breeze had lasted another 30 minutes I would have topped 100km. Session 1 Tabou Coolrider, NP RSS 7.0m2, Tabou 46cm freeride fin. I must thank Reg for selling me a beginners board that goes just a shade slower than my Manta 69 in the Pelican Point Jarlsberg style breeze. The Coolrider really impressed me today. Jibing it is like turning a semi trailer. Session 2 Mistral Explosion 130lt, NP RSS 7.0m2, Tabou 46cm freeride fin Not the fastest board out there but very comfortable. By 5.30pm I had run out of planing breeze but even after 4 hr 30min of sailing I could have gone further.
Pointman (8480km): Fun sesh at Peli in 15-20K. Started out on the 9.6 CR + 135 Patrik + 44 F-Hot, but only did one run out and back on this set-up cos I was way overdone on the 9.6. Rigged the 8.4 TR8, which was spot on. Some good runs across the river. Went for a couple of miles, but never powered the whole way. Came in for a drink and a rest @ 5.30. Headed back out 20 minutes later, but the breeze was dropping. Grabbed the 9.6 for a run, but the breeze shut down completely around 6 and I slogged back in. Still a nice sesh with Trouty and Claude for company. Good to see Marcel out for a sail, albeit sans GPS.

JJ (6448km): Cottesloe, WA, AU Fun afternoon with Lao at Dutchies, exactly 30 days since my last sail so especially exciting. Thanks Mark. First, blasted around on my new (used) wave board - took ages to get used to it. Plastic fins a bit too flexi. Started to get it dialed after about an hour. Couldn't resist a quick go on the Isonic at about 5, although the wind was dropping by then. Weird feeling going from the wave to the slalom board. lao shi (27489km): Fun afternoon at Dutchies trying to corrupt JJ on the wave kit. He did well but couldn't resist the temptation of swapping to the slalom gear and disappearing out to sea. I was really nailing some gybes today and having a ball. Gybing really tight off the rollers and min speeds of 12knts on the outside. Setting up right for a gybe is making all the difference.
