Stansbury, SA, AU SSE 10-15 then 15-20 later

AB67, KA Koncept 6.6, 34 FO Weedster then 32 Choco Weedy

Thought to try out a couple of fins on the AB today and started with the FO 34 but felt it was not fast so came in and changed to a 32Choco weedy and "Cowabunga" off she went.  Settled in on the flattish water on the spit trying to get some speed out of the AB 67 and was happy with it in the light breeze. Was wearing the sunnies Jimbob gave me but unfortunately they are at the bottom  after a missed gybe and just forgot to look for them. Continued on and headed out past the flat water into the bay between the oyster leases where the water is more choppy and found the wide board too jarring to do any distance and now know my preference is for narrow tailed boards in chop. Came in and changed to the F2 sxs 90 but even with the 6.6 couldn't take off because the bay is too sheltered just inside the caravan park where we launch and was sinking to the bottom. One could walk around the beach past the beach fishermen and around the rock groyne to the wind but Nah-Too inconvieniant for other beach users. So we need something to replace the Sputnik around 100-105 litres that can launch in no wind and that goes like stink and doesnt bounce around on chop and can give a armchair ride and i think i know just the board!

Cheers JeffSmile

09-02-13 Lake George-S 14-22 knots-Monster 100 [66cm wide]-Loft Blade 6.3m-Lessacher Duo Weed 28cm and Choco Weed 24cm

Very good turn out today. Really need to pay attention to people below and upwind, into gybes, good to have a rear view camera!!!!

Three quarter through session changed to Choco 24cm and immediately felt freer and tad faster. Overpowered towards end when started running out of arm and legs, just so much unfitness here. Board gybes like a truck, very hard to not plane through any.

Lake a bit gnarly in 2 sections going across indicated by water color change to white/grey muck. Did a bear away and forgit about rough section and was launched and lucked a landing. Scared the crap out of me.

People passing me everywhere. Hope all enjoyed Lake George today?

lol I'm still to gutless to try out Red's F2 Missile bought from him ages ago.... not been in the water asyet!!!!

usual F2 sxs and missile, 5.8 then 5.0 Koncepts and 24 choco weedy,

wind eneded up 20 to maybe 25 more coming.

heaps of crew out today, started offw ith an hour but was too early for the better wind, went on the missile but stuck in the doldrums 38's, always seem to be stuck there lately,

Smile was great to see decrepit with a huge pb.

Surprised herby was smoking again.

Great to be back at LG again.  I wasted a fair bit of energy early trying to "make do" with the old 6.7 but it is flogged(when overpowered by 1 fat bastard).  I had my 6.4 penciled in a sold and tried to keep it in the bag but it would be a wasted trip if i didn't (sorry Nic). Good news for you is it works really well on a 400 with 42 extension.

Tried my new weed fin initially(Tomahawk P 245@45) and it worked like a charm.  You could really stomp on it and it was super secure in the bumps through the middle.  I changed to the vector only when I had a slight spin @39.5.  I think I have the leading edge a little sharp.  Might get to use the 21 version in the speed board tomorrow(today).

Falcon 89 - EvoIV 6.4 - Tomahawk P 245@45 then Vector weed 27

PJ - 'board gybes like a truck' I thought would be a bad thing...but definitely not in your case!  Laughing

and a sub-thirties fins on a 100ltr with a 6m+ sail?  what's the equivalent in a slalom fin?  cause I need lots more than that!

nice work all.  damn family comtiments kept me off the water all this weekend, chomping after two weeks off the board.  will definitely remedy it this weekend if Huey shows up.
