Queens Lake, NSW, AU Four seasons in one day at Queens. Everything from total drenching downpours with 18 knts of wind, to near glass off conditions lasting 20 minutes. At one stage I near fell to sleep laying on my board drifting in the warm sun waiting for a gust-any gust- to blow me closer to shore. Then 10 minutes latter it's solid 18 knots of clean, sweet s-easter- but only for a 5 minutes... Pretty painful really but stoked to get back on the water. Got 1 hour of good sailing from 4 on the water-still better than nothing!

Highlight, pulled off 5 gybes in a row, two with planining exits- yeee bloody haaa! Thanks Mark J for the on-site mobile phone pointer about keeping the front foot just behind the mast base during the carve. That helped heaps and kept the board planing. Thanks to Adam for some footage the other week, showing me also where I was stuffing up.  Still sooooo much to learn to be half as good as any of you guys- and girls. But definitly fun trying to piece it all together!

Lowlight, done something to my foot during a failed gybe. If I haven't busted a bone I'll be very surprised. No work (or sailing) for a while I think...

Sounds like a fun session Phil - one step better than the last time I tried sailing Queens with you!!

Look after the foot mate - looks like a few good days coming up - get the strapping tape out...

Hope the foot is OK Phil. I fractured my ankle a few weeks back. Walking in a moon boot without crutches for a few days now but sailing is a few weeks away yet!

Thanks Jamie, Jeffro and Adam. Bummer to hear about your fracture Jeffro, hope it's healing nicely for ya. Not sure exactly what's wrong with my foot, definitly something. Seems a bit better today- slightly. I know it's wasting a few good windy days...

Gives you plenty of time to design a Marauders T Shirt....

Jamie, I suck at designing anything. I reckon the one Mark's got on Facebook looks great already.

Phil what have ya done to yourself, sheesh footstraps are great things but they can suck too when you get a foot caught in it in a gybe or get-off....did that happen to you? I reckon you'll crack a laydown gybe before winter! Good on ya.

Hey Raf, strangly I hurt the foot on the inside rail during the carve. Dunno what happened, came in sweet, but the board (F2) bucked a few times, lost control, so I bailed off the back. I hit the top rail mid-flight. I think it may be ok, hopefully it's just badly bruised. Catch ya next decent breeze.
