Kingfisher Shores, NSW, AU Very gusty sesh 12/30+ ESE/SE swinging with wind squalls during the heavy down pours. Mega chop with a nice lttle flat spot on the otherside if you could line it up. Very tough sailing but became really enjoyable in the end. Good crew out. Miller, Pugs, Spence and Lake Maquarie boys Greg, Byron and met Hugh these boys were Crankin. Nice to meet you Hugh. 6.6 Koncept 92 JP Slalom 28 custom Weedy.

Waited until about 11.00 to head off to Smith's Lake for a go. The wind and rain had held off and by the time we got down there Bill and Anton were already out, along with Kevin from Qld. on 5.8 and 6.5's It was looking much better than yesterday. The wind was  E/SE at about 15 -20k and looking like building.

Pete and I rigged 6.0's and I used the Hawk93 Ltd. and Select SX28 fin for the mostly choppy water, and given the fullness of the lake. Up close to the sandbar we managed to find a bit of flat water. Nice session, until the "whiteouts" with horizontal rain and wind squalls of about 30k. Amazing weather! Waited those out and the wind and rain settled and off we went again.

Came in more happy than the last time. Martin showed up just as we were packing up. I had to duck off to a funeral of a mate just locally on Wallis.Very sad and unexpected, so I'll dedicate this session to Bruce Peachy. A really nice and talented. guy who did our signwriting for our windsurfing business those many years ago.To Bruce. You'll be missed.

 My tracks at Smith's.

Quick sail after work. Gusty 0 - 20 knots, variable and changing direction. HOW GOOD IS IT TO HAVE SOME WIND AT LAST?!

Session was hard work to be honest and never got settled or comfortable, but great to feel the wind again. JP FSW 111litres, 6.6 North Natural

Not looking good for the weekend for me unfortunately...

Congratulations on the PB Bill! Smile

Crossed my own little milestone today - got my knee brace off!!  WOOHOO!!

4 weeks tomorrow since my altercation with Queens.  Has been an interesting journey.  Got the all clear on my ACL which was very lucky and diagnosed with a grade 2 MCL tear.  Have to see the specialist again in 2 weeks, but shouldn't need surgery.  Should be fine with lots of physio.  2 weeks ago was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis - a blood clot extending the length of my calf and above my knee as a complication of the knee injury and immobility.  Lots of scans, doctors, nurses, jabs and blood tests later, everything is now stable and on the improve.  On anti-coagulants for 3 months which sounds like it will coincide pretty closely with knee recovery.  Hopefully back on the water in April or May!! Cool

Has been so awesome to read all your windsurfing stories while I've been out of action - thank you!  No more injuries though Mark J and Phil please!!  Hoping for some fantastic Queens stories from the Marauders today and over the weekend!! Smile

Well done on your PB Bill!! Congratulations! Nice speed there Mick. It was a tough day out there today.

Nicole, that's good news about the knee brace. I'm shocked at the extent of your injuries though. Hoping your recovery is swift with no complications. Boy, when you injure yourself, you really do a good job! Hope your happy with the board repair too.Cheers.

Good to see so many got out. Smokin speeds Gabe and Mick. it never really happened at Port today, a lot of high gusty wind - like after eating raw cabbage

Nicole that is awesome news - congrats on being released from the brace. By the sounds you will be ready for some winter PBs on the Queens mudbank - now you have done 30 you need another goal - task master - oh yeah!

Nicole I know how you feel get beter soon and the windsurfing will help strengenthen that leg the doctor told me so.

lets hope for some more wind over the week end.

Gabo I love the look of the sailing at the sand bar at smiths you posted today looks like you could use a speed board there? I would love to come up and give it a crack.

Thanks so much everyone. I love Byron's prescription of more windsurfing for recovery. Sounds like a great plan ;-) Hope you're all safe and dry this weekend! Lots of floods and wild weather!
