Wallis Lake, NSW, AU. 6m GTX and Falcon 102, wind fairly northerly and very gusty 15-20+, but some lovely runs on the weed banks. Gabe and Rob out as well, and heaps of rows of floating weed made it challenging. Good to be back on water.

Sailing Club, Wallis Lake, NSW, AU

Went out for a warm up session today after missing out on the weekend, not expecting too much. Decided to leave going to "The Point" out owing to very sodden conditions down there, and a mostly north wind.

The wind looked like it was getting up by late afternoon.Probably about 15 - 22k and quite gusty and shifty. Still, the water was warm and sun out. Lotsa weed out there though. Missed Matt K's call. I was out already by then.Trust you got a good session in Matt. Sailed with Rob and Chris.Used Hawk 93Ltd.Finworks 11.5 weedy and 6.0 GTX.

6.5 GTX, AB54, 28cm Tectonics F1.  Around 20kts NE, upto and 25kts out back, nice and flat on the weed bank, mid tide and getting shallower the fin was just starting to touch the longer strands of weed the further upwind I went.  Sailed with Nick from Sydney staying at Sandbar caravan park and said Smiths Lake has been emptied and Graham turned up as well but didn't go out as he didn't have a sail small enough.

NP V8 6.5 JP 114 +32 weed free

NE'er of 5-10 knots by the time I got on the water. Looked promising early on.

What happened to the wind?

It just seemed to disappear gradually and finally went to almost nothing. There was a massive cloud bank pushing up from the south which seemed to kill the NE'er.

Pretty lame session, but at least I got on the water for a sail. Really needed the 8m instead of the 6.5m!

Hi Gabe, yea it's pretty soggy down there and not a lot of room park and rig up and another tree has fallen into the water just up from where we normally park.  There was no weed to contend with down there either.

Thanks guys, it's been a while since i've had a PB.   A good gust of wind and some flat water can do wonders for your technique.
