Canton, 25 knots Southerly

iSonic 90, KA Koncept 5.8,  25cm FO weedie

Carbon Art Speed50, KA Koncept 5.8, MauiUltraFin 17cm

It was an early start at about 7-7:30 as I had to be off the water and on the road by 2pm. It was bumpier than I thought it was going to be - the 17cm fin really didn't like flying over the back of chop. It constantly let go on bearaways. Good for Illawarra, bad for Canton.  The wind didn't really seem to pick up as much as I thought too, maybe it came in after I left early... It was good o meet a few more locals.

Canton Beach, NSW, AU

Early Start with Mike

JPSS109 - MUFdelta 20 - Loft Oxy 5.3 & JPFSW92 - Hahalua28 - Loft Oxy 5.3

Such a fun day out there today - I havn't had much sailing lately so I was just too tired to stay out any longer.

I really enjoyed riding the FSW92 today

Sans Souci, NSW, AU (speed strip was certainly not working today)

JP 65 Slalom VI, Vector Volt 34, NP RSSmkII 6.2 (I was a td over done on this set up)Tongue out

Windy, choppy and very gusty. Good to be out with T. Ford and the master blaster, speed man R. Murry.Cool

And note to self and others, don't step on 'flat head' fish. They're sharp & they hurt!

Canton Beach, NSW, AU

Faaark, what a day!!! Got up to Canton earlish with a mate. Straight out on a 6.4 and 99 Falcon, having a ball!! Byron, Greg, Millsy, MT etc allready out. Freakin' windy but then it settled and was so much fun. Not real long runs today as no flat water down the bottom of the run but some sweet bear aways back towards the beach.

Started to get dialed and finally got to try out Sams 79 Falcon which for my carcass is a speed board. Man, that was so much fun and felt unreal, the board just rocks!!!! Doing sling shot bear aways and then the day went all to shit!!!!!!

I was going upwind towards Pugs timing my bear off, looked behind me and went for it. Unfortunately I didnt see my mate and went hard as into him at over 33 knots. He was just going B & F and I t-boned him. A nano-second, all I saw was an orange blur and bang!!! Lots of guys came from all over, mate was shocked. All worked out in the end with some claret, bad bruising, and damaged gear. But it really scared the **** out of everyone and in over 20 years of windsurfing Ive never had something like thatb happen. F***, I am so going to be more aware.

Great to meet Byron who was charging (along with Greg and MT), sweet to catch up with Millsy, Pugs, Mick, Ray, Spence etc. Bit gutted I didnt get 5 x 10 pb and no Alpha recorded. New GPS, who knows.

As Kato says, always make sure you know where everyone is and look everywhere!!

Speed strip not working today. The wind was balistic around 9am. Very choppy, not good for speed today, a little flater off Towra. Great day sailing with Conan, Ads and Tim.

There was a girl on a Naish sail having a great time.

Good Session, few spectacular catapults... small gravel rash on my shoulder from one fall over my rig.

Bumpy and fast given the conditions. Sand bar was well underwater so I tried a few runs downwind, opposite doll's point. scary not knowing how deep it was, or if there were rocks, but didn't hit anything. Just no wind behind the gusts. seemed to go from 10 to 30kts. This is where my top speed was!

Exocett RS2, 32cm Nitro and Maui sails TR4 5.5m. Fun !

Thanks for the realspeed hint...

berome - open the SBN in realspeed and right click on the track down the bottom - will  ive you option to split the file.

Cut out the bits you dont want and save it as a SBN

I had a great run for about 20 min up past the sand bar - then snapped my 400 mast for the 3rd time in 6 weeks.

Really pissed at missing another good sesion and a long rescue. thanks for craig ferris for coming to pick me up in the inflatable.

Congrats on the PB Larko. Nice 2sec as well. Scarey shit that collision and it can happen so easily. I remember seeing some footage at lake George of a near collision between chocco and Tim - sounds very similar. thank goodness there were not bad injuries in your instance mate. Hope u didn't ding up Sam's 79 and your new NP's too badly

How's your hand Larko? There were a lot of guys out going all sorts of speed and upwind / downwind. I think I spent more time looking around rather than just kicking back and enjoying the runs. I had to bail out of a few bearaways to avoid collisions...

Still a bit blown up Mike and bruised but better than Pauls noggin!!! Got a few other sore spots that you dont know about until the day after.

Agree with you on the guys out, I had to do a few crossovers to get around people and make sure no one was in the way.

It was weird, just as I was going back out after a break Pete and I were saying how crowded it was and how the kite guys were getting in the way.

Was getting windier at that stage and then bang, I still cant get over how violent the collision was and how little damage was done!!

Thanks to all who helped at the time.

Hey AJ, smokin' speed yesterday!! Was scary stuff mate, just a full on flat stick T-bone!!!
