Tibor & I tossed up between 8.5 or 7.5 as so hard to see from the Haven what the wind strength is.  Should have gone 6.6 as the E-NE wind was quite strong & the ocean very rough. CASL 70, 7.5, 42 fin.  Battery died so only part of session, what a bugger I am sure I did 38 knots! Trust me, I'm a lawyer.

Isonic 101 and 6.7m. A light and Cloudy NE. Nothing at the Islands.

Its time to make the most of the last few NEasters of the season.

iSonic 125 Gaastra 7

Late NE breeze meant another sail with Greg, Hugh Andrew and others. Tried the speed run but not a lot of breeze there. Still for once the breeze gave out before I did.

A gusty northerly at Jimmys beach with my crappy old sailworks retro 7.0 metre. It was a good and a bad day. Good because I had a sail at Jimmy's and got some nice footage but bad because I had a uni joint failure that resulted in the loss of my rig. I won't miss the retro 7.0 metre but I will miss my new X6 pryde boom and severne mast base. I was about 1km offshore and downwind when it happened. It was a long and grueling swim and I'm glad to get out of it in one piece. A couple of men in grey suits showed up but they turned out to be dolphins thank christ.  The broken item in question was one of those bloody euro pins. Shit those things are bad. I'll be taking a spare one of those taped to my boom when I sail at Jimmy's from now on.

I can't get the movie to insert sorry. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxcJTHgnqIE

Hi Greg,

We're unsure at this stage, but we are planning to go to Stanley in Tassy in about Nov. with Pete Braun, and seeing as we're down there we'll try for a few days at Sandy.Still have to work out the details.

We missed the boat on Burrum this year, so we'll probably do Burrum next year.
