mikey (6316km): Gusty 5-20kts at Wello. Got wet at bout 7:30am with 5.5 Stealth but wind was on and off. Only going for 2sec and 5x10sec. Went up to 6.5 Stealth, Warp Slalom 58 and 30 Meanline. Spent most of time sitting in the water. One or two decent gusts. All over for me bout 11, then wind came up and a bit more consistent.
ODIN (24578km): Forecast for today 20 to 30 kts and to top it of strong wind warning---NOT.... 15 to 25 kts no flat water out in the bay and worst of all wind continusly droping down to 10 kts very hard day of sailing and bloody chopy as sharp peaks , it came to the point that i said stuff this its all over for me , but we had a good opening for about an hour or so of reasonable wind not droping too much. We came early in the morning to get the bank while the tide was still up , maguire rang me at 630 and said a good 25 kts so when vando n i came down we measured 15 to 20 AND after we've rigged and got out it was 8 to 16 some gusts did hit to around 25 but very little totall waist of time so we waited an hour or so had breakfast and it picked up a bit but lost the bank and it was back into the messy stuff we call that the other side. Tried out the new goldwing 30 through the messy stuff and it was rock solid no spin outs it kicked ass. CA speed 50 , 6.4 stealth , 30cm goldwing.

Vando (27318km): Interesteing day the change come through about midnight blew all night it even woke me up it was that strong. Thought u beuty went back to sleep. Got up about 6.30 to get the high tide at 8 wind was blowing game on. Got down there it was a bout 20 knots riged the 6.8 got out and it died errrr ok came in went for breaky at the wello cafe then 1hr later it picked up abit still only 15-18 got out then it picked up some more 15-25 prob could have changed down to my speed board and the 5.6 but stuck it out too far to walk back in again. Carnt complain too much we had a good sail. Gear Blade 6.8, 90lt, 34 tech fin
Albert P. Jonsson (8147km): A long long frustrating day. Started at eight o'clock to get the flat water on the high tide, but the wind was weak and gusty, so I came in and changed to the Mistral Screamer 105, but kept the Daytona 6.6 and the Goldwing 34. Then I went out again and stayed out for most of the day except when I came in for some muisly bars and water. It was a very hard day, because it was lumpy and the wind was never constant, one second ripping you over and then there was nothing in the sail. Still it is a lot of training, which I hope will show in the future.
Boombuster (20155km): I got down later & went out fresh the others in my team were a bit buggared from getting down & going out to early. It was cold it was about 18c we all had long wetties on I feel sorry for you southerners thanks for the wind from your direction but you can keep your cool temps ha ha. Wind was up & down a bit but I tried out my new 5.8 I must say it felt good. New Stealth 5.8 CA SP50 Tech 30cm |
