Tabou Rocket 140, Tabou Freeride 48cm fin and then an old Multifin 38 fin that span out a lot. Neil Pryde RS6 7.2

Great couple of hours sailing on Brisbane Waters. Beautiful weather, sunny with good seabreeze. Nearest BOM station says winds were between 9 to 15 knots north easter but felt stronger. Could have used a smaller board and sail but too lazy to change. The water was quite choppy which is great fun to sail in but limits speed. Smoother water lay behind old oyster leases.

The Tabou Rocket was at its limits. It seems to have a definate top end of around 25 knots. So I'll try and use my smaller Rocket 105 when the winds justify it. However the 140 is a great cruiser.

A really, really good day out on the water. Started out on my S-Type and 6.0 Daytona when the wind was in the mid 20's. Set up was perfect, and felt really comfortable and powered up. Felt relaxed on the water and was prepared to push myself today. Sailed up to the Northern Point of the runway and had some really good runs. Had one massive down wind run along the runway where I got most of my over 30knt peaks. Also nailed several gybes on the plane which was such a big buzz, as I have been really struggling to gybe those Daytonas.

Wind eventually got too much for the 6.0 so I switched to a 5.0 North Infinity wave sail. Was totally powered up and felt really comfortable. Sailed like an animal and spent most of the session on the fin pushing everything to the limit. Again nailed quite a few gybes, which has hence given me a PB in the Alpha 500.

Totally stoked that I got some more PBs today, but probably more stoked to nail some sweet gybes. It all comes down to leaning further than you want, and then some more!

Sailed at Botany Bay today, 25-30knots, gusting 35.  Gear, Exocet TB 58, NP Saber 6.2.

I post this with reservation as my downloads have been playing up. I didn't see a 35knot on the GPS saw a 33. ?, so I'll look forward to getting someone to have a look at the tracks.

Ok Jonathan, I've posted. Smile

BTW i did my first over 30 knot stack today, after I shook myself off the GPS was reading 31 knts, changed to a 5.2m after that.

good speeds guys, brisbane waters looks like a nice spot to sail.

Karl, you should give the rocket 105 a go next time you want a smaller kit, its a lot easier switching a board than sail. Congrats on the pb's

I was hoping for some bigger numbers yesterday when I changed down to my 5.2m, but after going out I realised I was buggered from holding down the 6.2 in 30 knots (which did well for a $300 camless sail). The ramps were getting bigger I was getting more cautious after the earlier wipeout, so I thought time to pack it up.

However I'm just packing on the carbs right now getting ready for today's session, forecast looking strong once again.

Anyone else coming down?......oh I forgot, it's Monday, so you guys are probably working. Wink
