Stringer (6817km): peli point, lame gusty breeze
Snides (18313km): very ave session, arrived at peli just after 3 to find a light sou east wind maybe 5 to 8 knots(forcast was for sou west 25-30!!!) as i went to pull the 8.3 out for a slog on my 134 i noticed the top of the river starting to fill in with breeze...yeehar 10 mins later i had rigged the 5.8kon and plugged in the ca 40 with a new24 falcon to try(cheers Tim) unfortunately i hadnt put the fin in the board previously and discovered a sloppy fit and a 4mm gap to the fin head. this in turn led to a few slips and slides but nothing to bad. after 15 mins of running the gauntlet through the farkin tea bags i found myself heading back up wind into the sun cruising at around 20odd knots when bang! i hit something and went for a trip over the handle bars. when i surfaced the rig looked stuffed with what i suspected was a broken mast or boom...when i turned to see what i had hit- i saw a farkinnnnnnn! kite board with a gash about 8inches into the board....the red mist decended and some new words found there way into the english language.....not farkinnnn happy jan! the owner of the kite board was at least 50meters down wind of my posistion and was the first to hear the new words i had introduced to the world.he wasnt happy and had a go at me for not watching where i was going!! as it turned out the boom was up about a meter higher than it should be and i soon discovered the boom in haul had snapped.miraculously the fin showed allmost no sign of contact and the board had 2 of the slightest smudges on it...so the out come was not to bad and some spare line in the life jacket pocket got me back to shore. a quick fiddle and a once over saw me back on the water, how ever the rig didnt feel right, felt real baggy on 1 tack and so so on the other. went back to shore and stripped the boom down but stil couldnt find any probs. spent the rest of the arvo dogging it untill i eventually gave up. on the sail back to shore i noticed the boom had a 20deg hinge in it right where the extention entered the main body of the boom.sure enough a closer inspection revealed a broken tail peice (pryde carbon wave with the stupid plastic 1/4 turn collars...crap!) i shouldnt be 2 pissed as i really havent broken any thing for prob 2 yrs or so...any way a new boom i am needing! hopefully before 2 long kiting will be banned from peli.....it will happen its only a matter of time
JC (3196km): Quick sess after work at Peli. Wasn't quite comfortable initially but had a really fun session (Sorry to hear about your interaction with a kite board Snides - you didn't look happy when i arrived). Spent most of the sess drag racing with Steve from Windforce who was sailing fast and that was great fun, then bumped into Jesper for a quick drag as well. Wind was a bit gusty for 6.7 so wasn't going that fast at times and numbers reflect that. Still, had good fun regardless. IS 87 CR 6.7 and LE 32
Slowboat (25967km): not much wind today. Tried to get to Melville early to catch the 30 minute window but it never really switched on. I got one OK gust all day. Usual combo of SP44 6.6m and CL24asy. Wind started to get very patcgy so plugged on the SL55 with KA32 slalom fin. (the SL62 is still out of action awaiting a nose job). The gusts were a lot stronger at Pt Walter but the lulls were very light. ie zero. I swam for a bit on the way over. Once there it was OK. Loads of guys out charging around in the flats. Only got to 35 on the dial blazing off the wind on starboard tack. Decided it wasnt really happening so headed back to Melville before it completely konked.
Tim Stockton (3894km): nice day at hardies... appart from the lack of wind.... I really should have got some sail repair tape early in the day to patch the hole in the 5.8... probably would haave had a knot or two over the rather underpowered 5.0 ><. was very happy with how the gear was feeling today though, even underpowered, with the missile getting really free and the rs giving great drive once it got in the groove... also god to catch up with elmo, hardie, jet, sam etc...

Chris Adamson (11668km): Late cruise after work from Melville Beach on the Manta 59 & Koncept 6.6. Nice breeze and nice and warm- bloody lovely! Had a bit of a look at Pt Walter and found plenty of weed and a few plastic bags - nice...
Claude Lecoq (22230km): Point Walter, 20knts SW, a couple of good runs but picking up weed and bits of plastic making it slow going. W49, 6.1, 26F1. GT31 doppler.
