2009 iS101 / 2009 KA Koncept 6.6 / C3 34 Venom

Wasn't planning a sail today, but the wind did come in stronger than expected, so I raced from Adelaide down to Goolwa at around midday. I was held up on the way by the 'Tour Down Under' bike race, and sat in a HUGE line of cars doing 40 or 50 km/hrs for the last 25km's. This was very frustrating as I could see the trees bending over and touching the ground - arrgh! By the time I got there, I'd missed the best of it, but still had a great sail on the 101 and 6.6 - this is a fantastic combination, and in the 15 - 20 knots, it was a lot of fun.

The wind picked up a bit later in the day, and I had an ambitious attempt on the iSW49 with the 6.6, but this was not going to work for me.

Sam and Carl were flying as I packed up, so they might have some better numbers.

Navi gt-11 doppler.

Kept calling the station and it was reading 25 avg gusting up to 40 knots - westerly - ideal direction for speedLaughing.  Shame i had to work till 4Frown.  Tried to talk the boss into letting me leave early but it was a NO!  By the time i left work it had swung south west and it had dropped to 15 - 20.  Arrived to see Chris D and Sam heading out on speed boards.  Decided to take out the isonic 50 with 5.8.  Definately far from speed conditions - very square and short runs - but good to get on the little 50 again.  In the end took the fanatic 89 for a cruise.

Carl - Isonic 50, 2009 5.8m koncept and sl7 25cm, ended up on fanatic 89 with sl31 and 5.8.

Sam - F2 xs missile, 6.2m loft blade and sl7 25cm and ended up on fanatic 91, sl7 31 and 6.2m blade.

Goolwa alpha channel - 15 - 20 knots - sw

Hi Guys,

I have adjusted Sam's numbers accordingly.  His gt-31 froze up after he did his hour at the end of the day.  He managed to get his data out the data logger.

Cheers

Carl
