5774 days ago Nice day at Melville. Very gusty to start with, but strong in the gusts. Decided to use small gear for a change to remind myself what it was like. So out with the 5.8m, and SP40. I got on the water in time for one or two gusts before the wind backed off. Kept sailing for 30 minutes on this combo before heading in for the 6.6m. Went back out with the SP44 and 6.6m with CL24A and had few more runs. Then the wind backed off even more so switched to the SP50 with a SL28 fin. Then the wind switched back on again so back to the SP44... The wind seemed to back off again so decided to call it quits. Came in and the wind picked up again so out with the 6.6m and SP40 for something different... but it was a bit too patchy by then. All up a really nice day for Melville. The tide was high so it wasnt as flat as it can be, but there were no sandbars to hit.
Great to see a few crew staying local. Nice work today Ado- was good to see the glow on your face at cracking a PB. 40 knots is not easy at Melville.

5774 days ago Arrived home from the family Moore River camping trip at about 11 - blown out on the last day!!
Emptied car - fed kids - loaded the Whirlpool - loaded car with different cargo - thought about Melville and Walter [both 5 minutes drive] but went to Hardies.
5.8 Koncept 08, CA SP47, 23 weed 45 degree.
Choppy but worth it - last quarter of mile was way out of control in mega gust and hell chop!! Claude going absolute machine mode - said 1 week was enough for Snides - I'm betting hour and distance will fall!

5774 days ago Nice day at melville.... as one would assume by the ~3kt melville pb :)
first time sailing the speed board over the sandbar (properly) and first time using it with a 23.5 elmo weed (usualy reserved for the slalom board). dam i wish i'd tried this combo before; the fin feels great upwind yet still very slipery and controllable in the chop :D hehheh cant wait to use it at hardies.
Spent a bit too much time on the slalom gear and 6.7, and didnt make the most of some gusts i got, so hopefully can push it closer to 40 next time at melville. (i am really regretting not having used the small board at melville during summer ><)
congrats to all crew for some great #'s today!

Edit; results from GPSAR, found a poofteenth of a knot!

5768 days ago Very short sail at PP - unfortunately a work day. Borrowed an old home made slalom, KA Koncept 6.6, Falcon 28 - on the first return run board tripped and I went through the bottom of my sail. I hope everyone else had a better day. On the plus side I have sold all my old boards and ordered a CA50.
