Annika (2359km): Got an early session in at lucky bay before the squalls hit.... and i had to go to work. Was nice and warm.... even a bit of sunshine. No speed sailing though. Too lumpy for speed sailing so just enjoyed cruising (isonic 76 and CR5.4). Think I managed to wash away some of the rust. Thought about going for a second session but couldn't face the cold. Nice to see a few of the team facing the crazy stuff later. Bit of carnage though... so how many stiches? Hope your ok.

Windrider (6161km): CR5.1, iSonic50/Sonic85. The afternoon session at Pt Walter. Fastest speed on the 85 - I needed the extra volume to get me upwind to the flat(ter)water. High tide, so still plenty of chop to make things interesting. Plenty of team members sailing and providing rigging and medical support - Hope the head feels better Steve!
Nelson (14146km): F2 SX small with 5.9M KA Koyote & Choco speed weed 28 Early sail at Melville before the squalls hit. Extremely choppy & near impossible to go off the wind. Went to Wally World later but couldn't do it, it was too cold
roodog (9007km): Lost a lot of data , big gaps in time , better than being at work. Steve hope your alright , if you are i have a saucer of milk , if you aren't i'll mow your lawns

Darryl (9554km): Took a long lunch break and got to Pt Walter by 1.00 Rigged my smallest gear. 6.6 TR4 Isonic 86 and 30 choco. Very gusty with alot of holes, still better than working. Best gusts were in the rain squall but i couldn't see the sand bank or much else. Hope your head is ok Steve, it was dribbling alot when i saw you.
Nauli (8194km): Lightning 5.4; JP Slalom Pro 84; JP 30 Well what can I say!!! Wally world...my nemesis..First sail in strong (read really strong) conditions in months and from the distance covered you will gather that I didn't get far and things went to shite very quickly. Fin slide out, pitch...ouch!! Result is a sore head, black eye, six stitches in a gash on my right temple, sore left arm, numb left thumb, twited right foot from fgoot straps. So definitely NOT a fun sail...perhaps I'm getting too old for extreme conditions...D'OH!!!
Thanks for the piccies Nelson...noice!! |
