5610 days ago 2 categories Although I'm sure snides will disagree, I thought it was a pretty nice day at melville overall, with a reasonably stong, abeit variable wnw for most of the day. Probably hit the water about 1-1:30, and promptly broke the batten tip clip on the rsr ><. After grabbing a spare off James D (Thanks sooooo much mate!!!) got back on the water, did a few runs on my sxs+cl31. smoking across the wind but was mostly 33's bearing away. Anyway borrowed chris's ca44+24clsymfin and went back out. Hooked a NICEE gust pretty early and came away with a sexy little 41.52 on the display. Looking at the tracks it seems I went too broad once i realised i was going fast and oversheeted, killing the 10sec. Might have ran out of wind as well.. Didnt get anything to back it up as had too much downhaul for the average wind, and was missing most of the other gusts. Anyway headed out a bit later with less DH and got a bunch of 35-37's.. Definately felt like the massive ammounts of DH I had on before had seriously improved the top end when powered.
Was awesome watching chris's runs today as well, consistant 40+ on the big 53 CA :P must try that one out sometime.
And heres the run.

5610 days ago my dreaded run at dysons continues...rolled up to see it smokin.. thought about rigging the 4.4 (unseen for 3 years) opted for the 5.0 after slowboat questioned my sexuality... plugged in the ca sp40,falcon 24 hit the water just in time for the wind to drop to 12 odd knots...lots of words muttered..... waited on the beach for 15 mins untill finally the wind returned to aprox 20kn had about 15 mins of sailing before the curse kicked in again..sailing along i decided to unhook to gybe only to find the harness line was threaded through the harness hook..WTF! i couldnt believe my eyes it was like trying to figure out 1 of those metal puzzle things where you wonder how to disconnect the rings...turns out the stainless hook had snapped at the base of the spreader and had parted just enough for the harness line to hook in behind.....dohhh! couldnt see it as it was hidden under my vest... iam getting to old for this shit...time to geta sup!...........only kiddin....about the old bit
well done to Tim, and slowy and 25 for making it look easy
